SOURCE: lug pattern for 1999 Chevy Malibu

the lug pattern should be 5x100mm, you having the loaded malibu it could be the 5x125mm. if you still have the factory aluminum wheels on there then you can either take one off and look on the back of the wheel you will have to look closely it will tell you though, or you can go to www. tirerack.com there website will navigate you through and give you the proper size. hope this helps. sorry not more specific.

SOURCE: my 2005 chevy cobalt factory radio is locked

There are only 2 things you can try to fix this yourself: turn off the engine and open the driver side door (to turn the radio off). Wait 5 minutes, start your car.
If that does not solve it, turn off your engine, disconnect the car battery, wait about 5 minutes. Reconnect the battery (negative pole first - black connector) and try your radio again.

If neither one of these two fix your problem, I am afraid only a GM service center or dealership can fix the problem. The Cobalt is notorious for all kinds of electrical issues.

Thanks for using the fixya forums!

SOURCE: ive striped a lug nut off broke lug nut pin or

Take it to a local shop and they will have to spend about a hour of labor etc. but they will be able to take off the hub. and use a press to remove the stripped broke off lug. then they will be able to press in a new one. It shouldn't take that long or be that much cost, this is something which does happen at shops quite often and most local repair shops will have the tools and new lugs for resetting.

SOURCE: i have a 2001 chevy malibu and the radio is lock

GM DELCO THEFTLOCK RADIO UNLOCK CODE:
1. Press and hold presets 2 and 3 for about 5 to 10 seconds until you
get 3 digits on your display. This is the first 3 of 6 digits you will
need, so write 'em down.
2. After doing step one and writing down the code, immediately press
the
AM/FM button to get the last 3 of the 6 numbers you'll need, and write
'em down. (if you wait too long between steps 1 and 2 and the LOC code
displays again, just start over).
3. Call this number, it's a prerecorded message, so don't worry about
having to talk to anyone...1-800-537-5140. The voice will ask if
you're
calling for Chevy, Pontiac, Cadillac, etc... When you here him tell
you
to press "2" for Pontiac, press 206010 and hit the # key. He'll ask
you
for the 6 digit code that you've written down. Enter that and press
the
* key. He will then give you a code, and the option to get additional
4
digit codes, but one should be sufficient.
4. Follow the normal procedure in your owners manual for unlocking the
radio with your new code...press the hour set button on your radio
until
you get the first two numbers of the code, then press the minute set
button until you've entered the last two numbers. Immediately press
the
AM/FM button once the correct code is entered and the code SEC or
"secured" will be displayed on the display screen. Now, just turn the
radio on, and your ready to roll.
There is an additional step you can take to remove all codes from the
radio and start from scratch by entering your own personalized 4 digit
code so that it won't get you in a pickle again! Just repeat step 4
and
you should get a display screen that reads ---. This means the code is
out, and you can now program your own code. Of course, once you
receive
the 4 digit code from the GM recorded message, just keep it in a safe
place, because you can use that same code again and again should you
have any more problems with it in the future. Good luck, and yes, it
does work.

Crankshaft Pulley 2001 Chevy Malibu coming out. Through Belt how do I get it back aligned?

Hi Crystal,
You will need to know if the crank shaft pulley is coming apart or missing the lock down nut. The ring on the outer edge of the pulley is held in place by molded rubber, I would think this will be your problem.

How do you replace cabin filter on 01 chevy malibu

I don’t know what these other people are reading, what they think you’re driving, why they’re posting directions for an Equinox, or pictures for anything but the 2001 Malibu does NOT have a cabin air filter!
It did NOT come from the factory with one or a pace to put one.

I have a flat tire, but do not have the special tool to take off the bolt. Any ideas? 2010 Honda CRV

Most auto parts stores have Locking Lug Nut removal tools. If you know the size of your lug nut you may be able to buy a single tool that fits on a standard ratchet to remove the locking lug nut. If your lug nut is the type that spins without the proper tool to remove it, your best bet is a mechanic with the proper equipment to avoid doing damage to the wheel or stud.

Good luck!

How to replace rear wheel studs on a 2004 KIA spectra?

if this vehicle has drums, remove the tire, remove the drum and use a 2.5lb hammer to knock the stud (I assume you mean lug nut bolt) from the front to the back. Hit this solidly and hard as if you use a lot of little taps you will likely mushroom the end and never get it out. These are pressed in but can be removed without a press and put in without a press. If you have disk in the back the concept is the same but you will have to press them in and out so you don't damage the disk itself. If you are actually talking about the lug nuts because one is locked on either from damage, weather or a locking lug and you no longer have the special key to remove it, the process gets a little harder. Essentially you have to figure out a way to cut it off or work it off. There used to be a wrench on the market that essentially worked on any kind of a nut regardless of the damage to the nut because it used the force you applied to break it free in order to grab the nut through a pinching action. As an alternative you can try using a set of vice grip pliers, if you try this make sure you have Craftsman, Snap On or Thorsen tools so if it breaks you can get it replaced for free. If it's the locking lug your going to have to knock the special cap off and find a way to lock onto the smaller nut. If it is rust locked or Locked on because of damaged threads try lock free spray lubricant, WD40 or a small propane torch to loosen the the bolt through expansion.

Wheel lock nut & bolt stripped...how can i fix this ??

YES YOU CAN BUY NEW LUG NUTS AND KEYS AT ANY AUTO PARTS STORE. THE ONLY PROBLEM I CAN SEE IS GETTING THE OLD LUG OFF. AS FAR AS THAT GOES, JUST BE AS CAREFUL AS POSSIBLE NOT TO STRIP IT OUT ANY MORE THAN IT ALREADY IS.
