SOURCE: I need an engine diagram for a 1995 saab 900 se V6

A SAAB dealer should be able to print one out for you. BTW that engine is practically identical to the V6 used in a caddy Catera, and Saturn Ion. Those diagrams would be the same, so you might want to search that also.

SOURCE: My 1991 Saab 900 is shifting perfectly except it will not go into

I've had a similar problem, and it was the rubber bushings in the shifter link; as some particular ones age they get sloppy and 5th gear seems to be the one that suffers. Others will age and disintegrate, then you won't be able to shift at all. If all the other gears are fine (no grinding, judder, popping out of gear or other untoward behaviour) I'd look to these rubber bushings, and replace them all while you're at it. They're replaceable at much less cost than a tranny rebuild, and are most likely that cause, i.e. after rebuilding tranny, you still won't get into 5th because the shifter won't have been rebuilt, just the contents of the gear box!

Check the "Bentley Bible" aka the Saab 900 Official Service Manual, costs about $40 from Amazon, for info, it's an invaluable resource!

Take the vehicle to one of the major Auto parts stores and ask then to connect their scanner to your vehicle and identify the fault code that is stored. That will tell you where to look and what has faulted. Once you get the code you can get the new part there at the store and a Haynes Repair manual on your vehicle to do the repair yourself.

Why will my manual transmission not shift into reverse unless I turn the engine off? 1997 saab 900

linkage inside trani but let's hope not, and go with a sensor can't remember which one exactly, or it could b automatic shifter cable. Personal experience the last two were ruled out & it was the linkage. Big mess, costly. Get a for sure good trani tech or a whole different trans, if it is that. good luck:/ might want to just let reverse go:/

My car will not going into reverse it is a standard when i try to put it in reverse it pops out

This is a classic problem on the 900, and is 80% of the time (or more) an internal transmission problem. However, occasionally the shift linkage needs to be adjusted and this will solve it. Have your mechanic (or yourself) first adjust the throw on the shift linkage, and if that doesn't solve it then you know it is internal. You can repair this, in most cases, without removing the engine/transmission. Good luck!

Reverse not working in my 1995 saab a week after the clutch was

Standard tranny's are pretty simple. Sounds like some of the linkage came unconnected. Take it back to whoever replaced the clutch and have them repair the problem. They apparently didn't put it back together right. You have to disconnect the linkage to pull the transmission to replace the clutch.

I lost reverse on my '91 saab 900s 5 speed. sometimes lose 1st and 2nd gear. Thinking maybe gearbox nees lubricating ?

Had the same type of problems with my 95 Saab 900. A bushing in the shifter linkage kept popping out. Found out after lots of frustration there was a new shifter linkage mechanism out for 94 to 97 Saabs that fixed this problem. Not sure if it relates. I found the part here:

Reverseing

If the car's a standard, it'll more than likely be the shifter linkage. Saab's linkage involves a lot of plastic that will crack and wear over time. A reputable European car repair service should be able to get the parts and fix the linkage. It's not cheap.

Cannot engage transmission from first to second gear

Usually this is a linkage problem, and most often the rubber lined coupling between two rods in the linkage system. This fails as the rubber ages, and when it does you are unable to select some or all gears, and might be stuck in one gear!

Not too difficult to re and re, and part is available from Saab dealer at reasonable cost.

Coupling may be located inside the car, under the console, ahead of the gear lever housing, or on the other side of the firewall
