easy on old cars with just 2wd FWD. and even more easy with non
V engines.
The fuel filter is underneath the intake plenum on the left side of the engine. To access it, you don't need to take off the intake or remove the starter like some have recommended. Take off the driver side front tire and access it through the wheel well. You may need to take off some plastic mud flaps and whatnot, but when I did this, it was a piece of cake. Make sure before you take off the banjo fittings on both sides of the fuel filter that you release the fuel pressure in the lines(take off the fuel cap).
Inside of the drivers side frame rail. About midway down the frame. Depending on production date, it should be plastic and have 2 fuel lines in one end and one fuel line on the other end. The retaining nut for the filter is on the outside of the frame rail. Hope this helps !
Oh, that is fun. It is easyest to drain the radiator and pull the lower radator hose. it is tight but it will come out. it beats pulling the distributor and power steering pump though. That is a tight fit. Good luck.
