I have replaced my ABS Speed Sensor, ABS Pump, and left wheel bearing and the brake line on the left front of my 2004 AWD Mercury Mountaineer. My ABS light is still on after replacing the parts. Autozone does not look up codes unless the Check Engine Light is on. What should I do?
Since you replaced the pick up units or sensors, check the tone rings on the axle shafts. The tone rings is what the sensors detect and are located at each wheel that has ABS. A tone ring looks like this:
This tone ring is on a Ford Ranger - which is pretty much the same as your Mointaineer. Notice the break in the tone ring. This will cause an ABS Fault indicator and will need to be replaced to extinguish the lamp. Check the brake fluid level and top off if needed.
Try another AutoZone or similiar to get a code and be non-specific about the light - just say a light came on on the dash and you don't know what it is about.
Good luck!

You can replace the bearing only if there is no damage to the races. You will need to inspect these when you remove the hub and retaining nuts and bearings. The race is really not that expensive and I would replace the race at that same time I replaced the bearing. This however is not required. The race is the part the bearing makes contact with and maybe worn if the bearing has gone bad.

if the part has been replaced and codes have been reset, then you have a faulty check engine light.just have the dealer document it for and you show still pass inspection if it is required
SOURCE: repair front wheel bearing assembly
no special tools in particular just the usual or necessary tools required.. 1stly u remove the Tyre and the caliper then u'll see something like a long rod dats the bearing

#3.I replaced the hub bearing assembly on drivers side twice and the light stayed on and the brakes worked fine. It was the wires (visible just above the tire on the frame) that rubbed against the frame that had shorted out. It was simply repaired and clip-stripped up out of the way. The light has been off every since then.
#4.Go to an autozone or another auto store and they will plug in to your diagnostic port for free and give you any answers on any codes that come up. My light came on at 133kmi. and i disconnected the battery and it has been of since then. Although you should get some things serviced soon such as tune-up,transmission and general maintenance.
#2.My dvds get stuck and it works about 75% of the time. I just keep pushing the buttons until it plays. They are just junbk and need to be replaced.
