I have a 1992 jeep cherokee 2dr 4.0 H/O 5spd. that lost most pressure in the clutch

I have a 1992 jeep cherokee 2dr 4.0 H/O 5spd. When i first bought the jeep the guy said it just needed to be bled because u would have to pump up the clutch to get it to work smooth, after 2 weeks of driving it it started getting hard to get it into gear i would have to pump the pedal more. So i went to fill up the resevior but it was almost full so i topped it off then pumped the clutch trying to see if i can get more fluid in the lines, after i pumped the clutch i checked the resivior and it was still full. I tried to pump the clutch again but it hit the floor and will not go into gear when its running, and has no pressure anymore. im going to buy a whole clutch kit soon and install new slave and clutch kit so any info on what it might be or if it might just be an easy fix, it would be greatly appreciated thank you have a nice day.

4wd or 2wd, be nice to say no?
the MC and or slave is bad.
put in a new one.
why ask this? its bad, you know it but need to be told to replace it?
best is both parts new
my 2 ,1988s has this clutch so does yours,
both 4wd, and 10hours labor to fix.
what you do is buy a new MC, and put it in and bleed it.
if the clutch fails then its 10 hours hard labor.
faster if you pull engine, for sure.! idI didn't, and cussed self,

its a COAX clutch slave, learn that word,
later corrected , this blunder, in 1994+
it's a stinking french clutch, "Peugeot"
Talk to Jeep guys no GM. and win. really..
same deal 1988 to 1993
later they switched to Mitsubishi trans box.
my 99 had that.

part ID 18
see it, zoom it and learn that its SPECIAL.

It sounds as though the seals in the master cylinder have perished and aren't doing their job. The reservoir is full, yes .. but the fluid isn't getting pumped because of worn seals... there's no pressure developing.

If there are overhaul kits available - try one. They're much cheaper than buying a new clutch master cylinder. It isn't a difficult job.

SOURCE: hydraulic clutch for jeep wrangler 2000

The bleeder screw is located on top of the slave cylinder. It will not work right until it is properly bled.If the reservoir runs dry, you will have to start all over. Have an assisstant pump the clutch pedal 3 times with the bleeder screw closed...then hold the pedal down and open the bleeder screw. Don't release the pedal until the screw has been retightened...continue this process untill no air bubbles come out of the bleeder screw....don't let the resevoir run dry...Please rate this...

SOURCE: My clutch pedal has no resistance and I can't shift gears...

If you have a hydraulic clutch, it is conceivable that the fluid has leaked out. For areas of leakage check up under the dash where the clutch master comes through the firewall., or check down at the transmission at the clutch slave, which is the small cylinder on the transmission. You should also fill the reservoir immediately as well.

If yours is the adjustable type of clutch, then you need to have it ajusted immediately

If you would like to contact me again about this or other problems, feel free to do so.

It sounds like the torque converter is locked up. Possible a bad torque converter or converter solenoid. First thing you should try is unplugging the solenoid plug on the transmission. Drivers side, near the shifter. Not the three pin connector near the pan on the same side. The connector you want is higher than the reverse light plug.

SOURCE: 2000 Jeep Grand cherokee Laredo

sounds alot the the pcm it controls the fuel pump and ign system but the anti theft would keep it from starting because the key has a transponder in it programmed for that vehicle and that would kill all ign if triggered

97 jeep Cherokee clutch will not depress to start the engine

Now you need to bleed the clutch at the clutch slave cylinder down on the transmission to restore the clutch.
Put a wrench on the bleed valve and open it, then lightly close it. Now have someone pump the clutch a couple of times to build pressure. Then while the clutch pedal is slowly pressed down open the bleed valve, then close valve as pedal gets to floor. Repeat this bleed process until a steady stream of brake fluid comes out the bleed valve. Then you should have a good clutch again.

What years would work for a driver door on a 2dr. 1992 jeep cherokee

junkyards have part interchange information. find one in the phone book, call them and ask what years will interchange and do they have one. if they don't have one they can get you one. every jeep I ever saw had crappy hinges, so do yourself a favor and put new hinges on the door when you find it before you put it on. you get hinges from the dealer, they are still around. getting a door lined up takes a knack, i would pay a body man 20 bucks for a half hour of his time sticking the thing on right.

for a small fee you can do a parts request online through many member recyclers. google it. i have never found a part nearby with that method, means a lot when you are thinking about shipping something like a door. The old fashioned phone still works for some things.

Adding R134A to my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

might be in the long run, but try adding the feron first, the system must have pressure in it for the compressor to come on, might take a can and a half before the compressor comes on, also sounds like you might have a leak, so look around when filling
