1990 BMW 535i. Doors locked. Batttery is dead. Cannot get the doors to unlock with the key. What's the solution?
I m a locksmith and had the same problem
What you do is:
HOld The handle up while you turn the key to the opening direction, it will feel as though it may bend the key but it will not.
keep pulling the handle until the button pops up it works I did it
Locksmith seems to be the only solution from here.
My '90 does that too. I can usually get it open by playing with the key in one of the front doors. Usually the drivers side. I wiggle the key while turning it and pulling out LIGHTLY. It usually barely catches something in the lock mechanism to work the lock up. Takes some patience to get it. Maybe mine is worn out and isn't supposed to work like that. Something to try at least. Let us know...
In the old days you could snake a coat hanger through the window to grab the door handle but you'll probably need a Locksmith!
Unlock the trunk and crawl through the back seat with a long hook to pull on the hood latch. Then you can charge the battery. I have ruined lots of shirts doing this. You have to be fairly slim or get your little brother to do it.

1990 BMW 525 series. Battery is dead and key will not unlock door. Can't get into car. what is the solution? Calling a lock smith is my last resort.
We went outside to get something from our 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander, the remote wouldn't unlock it, so we used the emergency key and nothing... There are no other door locks to unlock. How do we get in???
