I m a locksmith and had the same problem

What you do is:

HOld The handle up while you turn the key to the opening direction, it will feel as though it may bend the key but it will not.

keep pulling the handle until the button pops up it works I did it

My '90 does that too. I can usually get it open by playing with the key in one of the front doors. Usually the drivers side. I wiggle the key while turning it and pulling out LIGHTLY. It usually barely catches something in the lock mechanism to work the lock up. Takes some patience to get it. Maybe mine is worn out and isn't supposed to work like that. Something to try at least. In the old days you could snake a coat hanger through the window to grab the door handle but you'll probably need a Locksmith!

Unlock the trunk and crawl through the back seat with a long hook to pull on the hood latch. Then you can charge the battery. I have ruined lots of shirts doing this. You have to be fairly slim or get your little brother to do it.

Why wont my doors unlock bmw 735i 1992 what part do i need to replace

Wiring issues is what is sounds like. I also own a 1992 735i Mine was because of a bad ground wire. BMW built the locks to be able to "deadbolt" you can only emergency unlock (when you have no power to the doors, or dead battery) on the passenger side. Also make sure you have a new battery. Or a decent one. Bosch or Interstate.

Central locking in my bmw 320 diesel isnt working it wont open the doors but it will start the engine , the spare key is the same so its not the battery of the keys

Providing central locking works when you insert key in lock, try programming keys
Enter car make sure all doors/windows are shut
Switch ignition on and off, remove key
PRESS AND HOLD UNLOCK BUTTON ON KEY
Press lock button on key 3 times whithin 10 seconds and release unlock
Central locking will lock/unlock rapidly to confirm reset
If your key is the type with bmw logo in the middle battery replacement is not possible,as it charges as you drive

The battery is dead and I can't open the doors

You will have to jack up the car and connect jumper cables to the battery lead at the starter (+) and a good ground (-) to power up the system. The doors will unlock when you do this. I have run into this quite a few times.

Locked out

Connect jumper cables to the starter connection which should be visible under the car, hot to the bolted battery cable connection, negative to any ground. Connect the other end to a battery after you have crawled out from under the car.  Also consider; my BMW had the battery in the trunk, which should open with a key.
