SOURCE: Having problem with a 420
I had this problem. It turned out to be the "fuel pump relay control unit". It is situated with two other box shaped units and is the largest of the three near, or behind the battery. I opened the unit up and on "very" close inspection found a bad contact on the enclosed circuit board, I gave the connection a clean and added the maximum amount of solder (weld) to dissipate the heat. It was great to hear the pumps running possitively again and of coarse the problem was solved.

u may want 2 check with a dealer gmc dealer but u may have 2 fuel filters on your jimmy poss. an in-line filter runs down the pass. side or driver side not all cars are the same
SOURCE: wont start unless primed with starting fluid
Sounds like no gas reaching the motor. Could be fuel filter or fuel pump. I would recommed you disconnect the fuel line and start car to see if fuel is coming up if it is then ur injectors r clogged or no good if nothing comes up u know is pump or filter I would change both.
