I need to know the order that my spark plugs go in from the distributor cap to the plugs. I have a 95 ford explorer.

It can be faulty or dirty spark plug itselfd.Also for reference get the fuel level checked.Is the fuel tank is empty or near to empty.
Try cleaning the spark plugs and then see if that is helpin.On some cases the black carbon layer gets collected on the spark plugs and that causes the problem,so cleaning the plugs help.But if its not helping,then spark plug has to be replaced.Spark plugs get power from ignition coil to ignite sparks.If ignitioncoils are faulty then also there will no spark.--------------

Your order is wrong, and you need to switch the wires around on the top of the distributor. First pull the distributor cap off to find direction of rotation (some distributors turn clockwise, and some turn counterclockwise). Watch the rotor, the black bar on top of distributor shaft, and note it's direction of travel while someone bumps the starter over with the ignition switch. Now you can put the dist. cap back on, and arrange the spark plug wires in order 1-3-4-2. Leave number 1 in place, if it is marked as 1 on the cap. The plug wires can be pulled out of the raised terminals in the distributor cap for setting them in order. Just be careful of pulling too ******* the wires, you can cause them to break internally. Twist them back and forth first to loosen them, and gently pull them out, using the plug wire's rubber boot if possible to pull on them.
If it is easier to pull the sparkplug wires off the spark plug, rather than the distributor cap, you could set the order that way. Just need to know the direction of rotor travel. Number1 will go to cylinder 1, and next in order will be number 3, following direction of rotation, so that wire goes to cylinder 3, and on to 4, then 2.

Okay, lets start with the wires they are connected to the coilpack theres no distributor on the year ford, heres the sparkplug wire location, hope this helps, heres a diagram,

1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 The #1 spark plug is the front spark plug on the drivers side and the cylinder location in order from front to back on the drivers side is 1-3-5-7 and on the passenger side it is 2-4-6-8. The ignition rotor rotation is clockwise.

If your Distributor cap is not numbered then replace the new wires, or transfer the old ones to the new distributor cap one wire at a time. Identify the #1 spark plug wire and start from there.

Not trying to insult your intelligence, I'm going to get pretty basic here,

Looking at the Front of the engine, the spark plug order is 1, 2, 3, and 4. Front to back.

Looking at the distributor, it has two mounting screws for the distributor cap. One is close to the engine, the other screw is on the other side.

Looking at the distributor cap screw, on the Far side away from the engine, Number 1 spark plug is on the tower to the Left of it.

To the right of this distributor cap screw, is Number 2 spark plug tower.
The rotor turns clockwise.

Again, looking at the distributor from a top view, there is a distributor cap screw at the top, (Close to engine), and a distributor cap screw at the bottom.

Drawing an imaginary line from the top screw to the bottom screw, Number 1 spark plug wire goes to the Left, of the bottom mounting screw.

Firing Order is 1-3-4-2
The rotor turns Clockwise, (To the right)

1988-95 5.7L and 7.4L Engines Firing Order: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 Distributor Rotation: Clockwise

You will need to take out the spark plug in #1 cylender standing in front of the truck looking at the motor it will be the first spark plug to your left. shine a flash light down in there and see if you can see the piston if it is at top dead center. or all the way to the top. then pull your distributor cap off on look at the rotor bug it will be pointing at position # 1 ( you can tap the key over to get the piston all the way to the top.) having a friend do this is helpful. now to get to the firing order on the cap it is 1,4,2,5,3,6, clock wise . 4.0 liter and all V6 motors the cylinder arragment is
