Starting issues i've had my bmw 330xi for 6months and it's now it's having troubles starting first i was told it was an alternator which drained my battery i then replaced my alternator and bought a new battery and the car worked for about 2 weeks and now it wont start the only way to start it is to jump it. i don't want to drain another battery so i don't move it. the lights in the dash come on and stay lit longer than usual. i don't know what the problem could be any help is well apreciated.

Something is draining the battery on our 2002 bmw z 3. The battery and alternator checks out good. What could be the problem??

The problem is that an electrical component in the BMW that should be dormant when the vehicle is shut down is actively drawing power.
The only way to track it down is to have tests run to see which circuit is drawing excessive power because there are numerous components that might be the cause.

Stick or automatic? Either way, clutch or transmission cables out of adjustment or bad clutch/transmission most likely, have to bring it in to a transmission shop to be properly diagnosed.

Wont start 2003 bmw 330xi

Remove battery terminals and clean both posts and terminals
with sandpaper until you see shiny metal. The black coating is lead sulphate which has a high resistance to current flow both into and out of the battery. Also check the battery in you key as the immobiliser may not be reading it.

I have a bmw 3 series and have been having trouble with the car not starting. it has had a new battery and last week a new alternator but now seems to be worse

If the battery is ok and the alternator is ok u probably have a battery drain on the vehicle to test this u will have to put a mulimeter inline with the positive battery lead and check for amp draw. When checking this the ign needs to be switched off 0.05 amps is the most u should read if it's more than this pull out the fuses from the fuse box untill it drops this is how u find out what circuit the drain is on
