They are changed from within the engine compartment... at the rear of the headlight bazels... if it's the side on the battery you may have to remove it.... also don't touch the bulbs with your fingers as that shortens the life of them.

1985 ford crown vic ltd 352 200k miles been running good burns NO oil.\r\ndriving at night engine shuts down. I turn lights off, wiggle turn signal switch and it starts again. Once I was making a right...

I dont see if the turn signal light has to do any thing with the engine shutting off, make sure the IAC idle air control valve is working, air filter is good, fuel filter is good and IF your vehicle has a power steering pressure switch then that could be causing it but with 1985 Crown Vic I dout it.

Headlight problem

I guess that means replacing the bulbs didn't work? The only other thing might be the dimmer switch. Its located on the bottom of the steering column, about halfway down fron the steering wheel.

I have a 1994 ford crown victoria I tried to start it the starter turned over a couple of time then stopped like someone turned off a switch I turned on the headlights and tried to start it but nothing...

reach underneath and hit the starter housing a few times with a hammer,if it now works either replace the brushes in the starter which cost about $20.00 ,or replace the starter which costs about $90.00.(parts only for both estimates)

Are you sure the bulbs are dim? Could the problem be faded lenses? If so, like most of today's plastic lenses, get yourself a lens restoration kit and follow the instructions.

Head Lights

If only the headlights are dull and not putting out the correct light, I would suspect a bad ground (earth) connection somewhere in the headlight circuit or the fuse for the headlight circuit. Something is causing excessive resistance and causing less voltage to be provided for the headlights. If all the lights are dimly lit, then I would check the charging system, the battery and the ground cable for the battery, chassis, and engine.
