VW POLO V REG keeps cutting out engine sounds rough and there is no power on acceleration.

    yes have same problem car starts sometime with on power just revs up a little bit but not driveable. And cuts out mainly when slowing down thanks lewis

On the fuel injection rail there's a little round silver vacume thingy put your tumb on it and push whilst some one starts the car. that is if this happends when you start the car and when you try to press the accelerator the car cuts out. i have a '00 polo and this happened me! hopefully this helps.:-)

Hello buy 4 injector coils
they go over the spatrk plugs
get new ones and your engine will be smooth like new and soud super
remeber the are the things that give electric to the sparkplugs ontop of you engine

Vw polo 1 litre has idling problems it keeps reving to around 800 rpm then droping to around 400/500 all the time engine being cold or warm makes no difference. It's a w reg with 50000 miles

My vw polo keeps cutting out. when it slows down

try cleaning your battery terminals and tightening them. if that doesnt solve the problem your battery or alternator may be dying, some auto parts stores will do a charging system check for free that will tell you if one or the other is bad.

The VW specs for oil is way over-hyped.

Use a Brand Name Full Synthetic 10W40 oil and you'll be OK.

check all vacume hoses for splits.this sounds also like air being drawn from the fuel tank sender unit which could be corroded.is there a strong smell of fuel inside the car?this could also be a secondary jet being blocked in the carb if it has one.good luck

Vw polo cutting out

could be wiring that shifts loose. is it only under hard cornering? i had a problem with a vw that made a buzzing sound everytime i cornered hard. it turned out that my oil pump wasnt picking up enough oil under cornering becuase a piece of plastic int he sump was missing.
