Fuel pump doesn't have any coding to do. It is either the correct pump or it isn't. If the fuel pump you are using is from the same type vehicle with the same type fuel system then it should work. ow, a 1999 fuel pump probably will not work with a 2003 vehicle. They had different fuel pressure requirements and connections.
You can replace the fuel pump. The pump itself is about $130-$155. The fuel pump should be accessible by going under the rear seats in your car. If you cannot access the pump under the rear seats you would need to drop the tank. Prior to opening the access door make sure you unscrew the gas cap. I will put more detailed instructions tomorrow after confirming the location of the fuel pump.
you may not have enough fuel presur yet. try this -
turn key to on, listen for fuel pump noise (humming) for about 5 seconds. If no hum, you have a problem. If it hums, good. Now, turn key off for 30 seconds and turn key to "on" again. Repeat 5 times. Then try to start car.
The fel pump does run in "start" mode continually.
do not understand you what you mean. assuming your car was ok before you changed f/filter you need to bleed the fuel system of air. esiest to do would be to loosen fuel line at the injectors and have assistant crank the engine while you observe for clear fuel leak without any air bubbles from fuel line.tighten fuel lines and start engine. might have to repeat a few times. good luck.
