SOURCE: 1985 944 porsche speedometer stop working

First place to look is behind the dash. Its unlikely to be the 'sensor', as its a cable driven speedo...this would suggest the dashboard panel is falling to bits...you may be able to pick up a scrap on from somewhere...

SOURCE: electrical intermittant problem porsche 944 1983

Have you checked for good grounds? Sometimes water or wetness will help with conductivity. Grounds are all over the place and are usually corroded, braking the bond. Make sure that all grounds are clean and secure.

SOURCE: 2001 porsche boxter engine running hot

My 2000 Boxster developed a pin hole leak in the coolant reserve tank in the rear trunk. The trunk floor is actually raised, which allowed the coolant to go unnoticed, since the carpet never got wet. I would pull back the carpet on the side and see if there is coolant in the trunk area. If so, the plastic reserve tank will run you about $300 for the part. It is a bit of a pain to replace, but something the average home mechanic can do. Only real hassle was the hose clamps in the engine bay were installed before the engine, hence the engine was in the way of the screw head.

1998 Dodge Stratus rubbing noise when turning. Sounds like rubber against metal. No popping noise.

It could be several things ....
Wheel bearings - jack the front driver side up. First ... just rotate the wheel ... you should hear NOTHING. Any noise menas there is probably a wheel bearing/hub issue. Now take hold of the tire in the 9am and 3pm positions. Try to push/pull from side to side ... if there is any "play" in the wheel the bearings are going.
Brake line interference - a lot of brake lines have a plastic sheath in the wheel well area ... check to see that the line/plastic sheath shows no wear when you have the wheel off...that might cause the issue.
Steering linkage - even though the upper control arms were recently replaced look at all the ball joints and grab hold of them and see if there is any play/movement.
Repeat on the passenger side..
Good luck on your troubleshooting

Wheel noise

Check to see if anything is around wheel that could be touching wheel while driving. Make sure rim and wheel fender are clean of debris. Possible cv joint failure, but that makes a clicking noise.

2003 camry with 200,000 miles has rubbing noise not the brakes wondering if a cv joint or u joint problem

If you have a rubbing noise on the BRAKES then its most likely the pads worn out and touching the metal backing plate ,other wise it could be the wheel bearing worn or coming loose but the CV Joint if worn will make a clanking noise when turned on full lock either Left or Right.
So jack it up at the front and check the wheel bearings and turn the wheel to see if the noise is there as it will be a metal to metal noise ,but if pads are good then it will just be a soft rubbing noise.

Very loud "rubbing " sound when driving only

you did damage to the wheel bearing i bet it sounds like a airplane sound. also if you steering wheel is off 7"then have front end aligned because this will destroy the tires and they will make noise.

Noise coming from front of car

It sounds exactly like a wheel bearing problem. The right side its seems would be the problem. When you turn right it puts more pressure on the bad bearing making it louder. I would suggest replacing both. If on is gone the other one isn't far off. Hope this helps

Front-end noise

If the noise is coming from the right front when making a left turn it would be a wheel bearing if you can narrow down where the sound is coming from i would check that.

Grinding noise in the left front wheel while turning right - gets more noticeable the harder the turn is. Checked tire clearance - no problem, but it's not a rubbing noise but a grinding noise. No problem...

grinding on front wheel is caused by 2 things. a bad or loose wheel bearing,or worn out brakes, have them both checked
You might also want to check the level of fluid in the power steering reservoir - low or lack of fluid will also cause a noise (although more of a whining than a grinding).
