1996 Saab 900 Radio Won't Accept Code

I have gotten the code from the dealer and previously it worked. Recently had a dead battery, and double checked the code with the dealer and now it won't work. The code I enter just sits there on the screen. I have tried changing the fuses and almost all other fixes I have seen on the net. This is driving me absolutely barmy. Please someone help!

SOURCE: where do you find the radio code 1994 saab 900

Upon disconnecting the battery the radio will flash code until you enter the code. If you enter the code incorrectly you must either hold the band button down until the word code reappears or leave the key on for one hour until the word code reappears. This procedure depends on the year of the car. If you do not have the radio code and would like to get it you must call your local Saab dealer with the serial number off the top of the radio. Many times radio owners will write the radio code on top of the radio once you have the correct code. Typically the radio code is in the owners pouch and is a small card with the numbers on it.

SOURCE: I changed the battery on my 1997 Saab 900. Radio is dead.

turn on the radio and enter the code. If it does not respond, hold the band button down until the screen asks for it. If that does not work, pull the radio and courtesy fuses for 5 minutes and retry.

SOURCE: Can't get CODE IN on the screen

I have had this problem more than a few times. First you need to connect the negative cable last and when you do, try to connect it fast. For some reason if the connection sparks it doesn't seem to work that well. Second when you do connect it, go right into the vehicle and put the ignition key to the on position. Press the power button and the Code In should appear.
I don't know if you have the CD changer in the back although I have had problems with that too: Sometimes It dose not work properly after a reconnection. What I have done is unplug the CD changer cord from the changer until it works. For some reason its a pain in the ****, but if you keep at it it should turn on. Just remember that you have to have the radio on when your doing it.

You have to find the correct code entry instructions for your radio.

This will depend on the radio make + model

When I switch on the radio?cd player in my Saab 900 the screen says "Code 1". What do I do to fix this ?

could be the anti-theft device in the radio. it requires you to put the 4 digit code in to "unlock" the radio for use. This number should have been given to you by the seller -otherwise can be obtained by a previous SAAB dealer. This can happen when the battery is disconnected for a period of time

Need radio code for a 1998 saab 900

The codes are not for the Saab but for the radio.
You need to take the radio to a dealer of that brand of radio. There is not just one brand that can be installed by Saab. a Saab dealer can help, but none of us can, because each radio has its own code. But a dealer has the tools to reset it.

The battery on my 1996 Saab 900 died one day and when I replaced it with a new battery the radio was no longer working. Any ideas? Thanks, Joe G

There is a 4 digit code that you must enter to get the radio working again. You should have a plastic credit card sized card with the 4 digit code printed on it; if you don't have this card and the number is not written down anywhere on the owner's manual then the number should be on the back of the radio itself. When you turn on the radio the info screen should ask you to enter a code.....if you can't find the code in any of the places I listed I believe you can get it from the dealer. Hope this helps!

1999 Saab 900 radio reset code

whenever the battery is removed (or car experiences any loss of power) you must type in security code for  radio (this is the case with BMWs and Volvos as well).  Go to any saab dealership and they can remove the radio and get your radio's 4 digit code, they all have one.  Yes, I have done this before ` they didn't charge me and I was in and out in ten minutes.
