Sparay lock assy with lubricant, and look where release cable attaches to lock assy, and push/pry it one way or the other to get it to move, opposite of where it is. Lube cable too.

SOURCE: acura rsx trunk latch stuck & won't open

could be the spring release in the lever on the trunk itself. If you can hear the acuator locking/unlocking(that is all it's ment to do) then the spring release is the problem. you need to unbolt the latch from inside the trunk and once the trunk is open you can trace from there. I had the same problem due to a minor fender bender and I just fixed mine last week.

SOURCE: 1995 dodge neon trunk will not open. Key works

Hello, you could pick up one of those little containers of lock deicer and lubricant and spray it in the key lock. From the description the key lock works intermetiatly. After you put the spray in work the key in and out a few times and work at turning the lock. While your trying to turn the key try moving it in and out slightly. Your key lock might just be freezing up from lack of use.

Trunk opens by itself. I check it when I get in and out and it opens itself.

electric truck opener? inside cable release beside the door ?
if electric check to make sure something isn't hitting the switch when you shut your door. if cable beside the door make sure its clear of dirt under it preventing it from going all the way back down to lock position. also check the latch position to make sure it is fully letting it latch around the lock bar. simple adjustment of the latch would fix that.

HOW TO TURN OFF THE TRUNK OPEN ALARM

The 2012 Camry's trunk lid has a 'trunk open' alarm that shows up on the instrument panel as 'door open' red icon. It also turns on the door open beeping sound so long as the trunk lid is open. This is normal and is usually not a problem..

However, if you should need to carry a large item in the trunk and can't close the lid, be prepared to listen to the incessant door open sound with no means to turn it off!!

The trunk lid alarm 'switch' is operated by the trunk latch when you open or close the lid. By manually operating the latch to it's closed position, you can temporarily silence the alarm.

Using a small screwdriver, you can easily press the actuator and turn the alarm off.

**WARNING**
YOU MUST RETURN THE ACTUATOR TO THE OPEN POSITION (ABOVE)
(ALARM ON) BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE LID. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY DAMAGE THE LATCHING MECHANISM
**WARNING**

DO THIS WITH THE TRUNK OPEN LEVER OR WITH THE REMOTE TRUNK OPEN BUTTON.

Picture 2: trunk lid latch in the CLOSED (Alarm OFF) position.

IF YOU TRY TO CLOSE THE LID WITH THE LATCH IN THIS POSITION YOU MAY DAMAGE OR BREAK THE LATCHING MECHANISM

Trunk latch Is stuck in the locked position on a 2000 dodge neon

The camshaft position sensor on a 2000 Dodge Neon is located at the end of the cylinder head. It's the black plastic part with an electrical connector on it. Please refer to your owner's manual for more information. --------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you get a 2000 dodge neon trunk open when the key won't work? No button in glove box.

The only other way I can think of is to remove the back seat to gain access to the trunk latch.
Otherwise, a locksmith would be my next solution.

Trunk lid will not close. Tried all key positions. Auto button on key and interior release does not open trunk. Opened w / key manually and it will not close. Any ideas on resetting actuator and latch?

check the rubber hose that the wires pass through from the vehicle in to the trunk lid it probably has a broken wire inside. Also check wiring to the boot lock for detachment.
A bit of WD40 or similar fine oil on the lock may free it up too ifs its just stuck which may be worth a try first.

check the trunk latch on the lid,use a screwdiver to see if it locks when you insert the shaft of the screwdriver in the latch. if it doesn't lock check the inside trunk release could be stuck in the up position.or the latch is dry try to oil it with dry lube or wd 40

My trunk will not close

There is a possibility that the remote latch cable is stuck (lubrication is gone) . With a screwdriver, NOT the fingers, try to return manually the latch, to its open position (instead of the pull open position). If you push it too far, it will go into locked position, and when you pull down the trunk lid, it wont reach its normal closed position. In that case, pull the latch back open, with the remote lever. Should you manage to close the trunk properly, spray some WD40 or some lubricant on the latch assembly.

Can not get my trunk open by lever inside or key lock on trunk lid and I am using the right key. Trunk lock seems to be in open position.

The lock latch is held by a spring to be in Normal Close position. It it is in open position then there is 2 possible root causes: 1- The cable pulling the latch to open gets stuck. 2- The spring broken or out of its position. Hope this can help to fix it.
