Volkswagon Golf Mk4 rear door handle locked!


My rear door handle will not open the door, and even worse the child locks are active.

This means I cannot even use the internal handle to open the door.

Can I take the rear door panel off without the door being open?

if so how ..

    both rear doors on my 1999 tdi wont open, feels like child locks are on, tried all buttons but no joy whatsoever, Any help or advice for a total novice!! AJ, Birmingham

    my 2000 w reg gti back door is locked shut with c/l on what can i do to solve this i have managed to take door panel inside off but wish i never as i cracked the the panel doing so and even worse there is a aluminium plate welded over the hole so i could not get to anythink

Just take time and a light. open down the rear seat and look to see where the screw is to turn on and off the child lock then try and turn it to the off position. may be remove the door rubber as well to give more room. just give it time u bwill manage to get it

Why won't my rear passenger doors open using the inside door handles but will open using the handles on the outside/
this indicates that the child locks on the rear doors have been activated
they are designed to prevent children from exiting the car unexpectedly and dangerously
when you have the door open check the position of the child lock on the edge of the door

2006 Nissan Sentra. Right passenger door wouldn't open from outside, then my kid turned on the interior child lock, meaning the door is unable to be opened from either side. Where do I go from here? C
2 or 4 door? If 2, you should still be able to use key on exterior, and I don't think they have a child lock on 2 doors, so I'm guessing 4. With car unlocked, can't you open rear doors from outside even with child lock on?

Vw golf mk4 my rear passenger door willnot open with central locking key system. i can't even open it from the inside, pull the door handle and the lock pin rises but door won't open. i believ
This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.

Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.

My aunt claims that when her sister accidently set the car alarm lock when she was napping in the car that she was locked in it. She says she could not get out. Does Chevy actually make the 2009 Equinox so...
the only thing i could think of would be the child safety feature but that is usually only for the rear doors. i think she just panicked because the front doors are set up so that if you pull the door lever the lock pops up.

My golf mk4 tdi boot wont open atall
Get hold of a can of Plus Gas or even WD40

Open the slot where the key goes into with a thin screw driver push the thin tube on the can then into the hole

Cover with a piece of tissue , give it a god blast and leave it for a few hours

Do it again and this time gently rock the key as if you are trying to opem the boot

It should free off

As they say if you dont use it you lose it !

Maybe fuse number 6 is blown (check lefthand side of steerning wheel where all teh fuses are located - you must open the door)
