I know one thing you do not have to take dash board out and yes you do take glove box out. you might have to take one bolt out under dash on far right but thats all. there is one screw top far right on heater box upper thats a bear other than that it is not that bad. if you need a diagram most major autoparts stores have web sights you can go to for detailed assembly and disassembly instructions and diagrams.

How do I change the heater resistor?

Remove the glove box, you will see two connectors held in with screws with wires going to them. The lower connector is the resistor pack. Disconnect the connector, remove the screws and the resistor pack will slide out when pulled on. Then put the new resistor pack in making sure the orientation is correct, install the screws, reconnect the connector and install the glove box. Then you should be all set to go. I hope this info helps!

1991 gmc sierra 1500 p/u-can not locate blower motor speed control resistor. I've looked under dash, pulled out glove compartment, looked on firewall, I give up.

If its not near the blower motor, it may be on the hvac box on the firewall in the engine compartment. It depends on if it has ac or not.
They are usually behind the glove box mounted in the side of the heater box.

How to remove heater core cover

First disconnect the heater hoses. Have a pan to catch the coolant when you do.The fasteners for the heater box are in the engine compartment on the fire wall. Undo the nuts there, according to my picture there should be at least 3 or maybe 4. Then remove the glove box and door and disconnect the door cables on the box. Take the floor outlet and the defrost outlet off, they each have screws holdong them on. There will be 3 or 4 more screws holding the box on the inside of the cab, these come off now. Pull the heater box back easily until you can unplug the wire harness and then remove the box. then you can replace the core and put it back in the reverse order. Hope this helps.

How to get access to a heater core for a 1985 GMC suburban K2500 350CID

This was the procces on an 86 chev 1/2 ton. Should be the same. Remove glove box. Undo manual controls for duct work. you'll see them there behind where the glove box was on top of the heater core housing. Bemove screws/bolts. Don't remember how many there are. Undo hose clamps in the engine compartment. Remove heater core.

How do I change out a heater core on a 1997 GMC 1500 Pickup truck

you need to remove the glove box disconect the heater hoses look behind the glove box some heater boxes are two pieces and you can remove the heater half some you need to remove the whole piece if that is the case let a garage do it because they need to disconect the a/c so it needs to be evacuated and recharged if it is a two piece box just remove the bolts that hold the heater core under the dash and pull the box strait back good luck
