The truck was missing and the coil wire was arcing with something because the booting was cracked. It shut off and wouldn't get any spark. I tried it the next morning and it started right up. I replaced the coil wire and all of the plug wires and plugs. I drove up to the store and shut it off for about 5min. When i came back out, it seemed like it didn't have spark again. I tried for about 15 min when it finally started. I tried duplicating the problem when i got back to the shop and couldn't get it to no start. It started up fine every time. ... I don't even know where to start looking.

You need 3 things.
Compression
Good hot blue spark to all plugs.
Good gasoline and proper fuel pressure. 13-13.5 lbs on your TBI
If you have all 3 then move on to injector pulse to both injectors.
Keep me posted and recheck your spark plug wire to make sure they are not crossed. firing order 1-2-3-4-5-6 cylinder # passenger side 1-3-5 front to back. cylinder # drivers side 2-4-6 front to back
distributor #1 is located at the 7 o"clock and rotates clock wise so next distributor post on the right working clock wise is #2. Good luck and hope this helps.

Here is the firing order diagram for the 5.0 liter (305), 5.7 liter (350) and the 7.4 liter (454) V-8 engines (note position of locking latches/screws between the 3 and 6 and the 1 and 2 terminals on the distributor cap). Let me know if you need the 4.3 liter V-6 engine diagram (hopefully not in a 2500 series truck) or if you require any further assistance.
