Probably the signal flasher or fuse or both.Should be a map in owners manual or on cover under dash, or under hood.

Better yet have a look down the steering column, by diagnostic connector.

1990 f150 straight 6 it's happened before, blinkers not wrkg and rear lights. replaced blinker switch last time

If your brake lights are working, then the wiring to the turn signals are good. Check the turn signal flasher which is under the dash. Try your emergency flashers. Do they work?

I bet your blinker flasher is not working. Most likely it uses two flashers, my Intrepid did. Somewhere (probably near the fuse box) and likely under the dash you will see a board with relays and stuff plugged in. You will also see two round things, those are most likely the flashers. Swap them if they are the same, then your hazard lights won't but your blinkers will, at least until you get to the store to get a replacement.

I have a 1990 Mercury Cougar. Several problems...Blinkers, hazards, horn, and break lights are not working. However the break light in the back window comes on when the break is pressed. Checked fused and...

I am unaware of what a "CO" display is.
Now with the blinkers, hazard, horn and brake lights not working that may be the multi funtion switch (blinker switch) that is located inside the column (where the blinker lever attaches).
Obviously the blinker, hazard and horn will all work off of something in the column. Brake lights, you may think a switch on the pedal.

the brake lights do work with that switch but when you have the kind of tail lights where a turn signal light shares the same bulb as a brake light, the brake light is cancelled for the turn signal by running through the multi function switch inside the column.
The third brake light does not blink so its not on that same circuit.

Turning signals not working all the time

Sounds like the blinker relay. Is the emergency flasher switch on the dash above the radio ? If it is the blinkers relay is the same as the emergency relay. If the blinkers stop working pound on the emergency lights switch and if they start working then replace the emergency lights relay switch cause the blinkers is on the same relay as the emergency lights. My 2001 Grand Am does the same and I just hit the emergency lights switch and they start working again.

Blinkers

You can check your blinker relay located in the fuse box. You should have 2 of them. 1 is for the emergency blinkers. Trade them to see if this corrects the problem. The other issue could be the multi switch is not functioning properly all the time.

Hello Durant.
Your rear signal lamps are turned on by the body control module (BCM).
You could have some broken wires from the BCM to the rear signals or the BCM isn't providing power to them. The BCM must be getting a signal input because the front ones are functional.
If you want to trace the wires here are the colors you are looking for.
Left rear wire is white/dark green.
Right rear wire is white/brown.
You may need to have your BCM scanned to verify.
If you would like more information to solve this yourself ask me.

Blinkers don't work: When I use my blinkers to

The right blinker issue sounds like you have one bulb out either front or rear check them both. The left blinker issue sounds like either bulbs(both out) or fuse, or worst case blinker switch has gone bad on left turn only so not picking up the signal.

It sounds like a bad light socket. The brake light and the parking/running/regular part of the socket are shorting out. When you press on the brake petal it's shorting out on the turn signal and sending current to the indicator (arrow) on the dash.. When you use the blinker, it's shorting with the brake light and causing them both to flash...

Check the socket and get back to me with the result.
