Mazda protege 2000 squealing from serpentine belt area check engine light on

I have a 2000 mazda protege. The car is sqealing from the area of the serpentine belt. On cold or warm starts the sqealing starts out a dull low squeal then after driving it a few minutes then the high pitched sqealing starts. It will stop after a while but when I stop at a light and resume driving it will be squealing again same sequence dull sqeal then high pitched squeal. When I turn corners the squealing will start also, that is if it isnt already squealing. I dont turn my heater on, except for lowest setting only for defrosting purposes. I have replaced the alternator and belt and I know it is ok plus the sound comes from the front of the car, right by the serpentine belt area. I have spent so much time and money on this car, I do all my own repairs because I have no more money to pay to have it fixed. I just need someone to give me a suggestion on something else to try. I am a nursing student and supposed to be in school this morning but on the way to school with the squealing came the check engine light so I know whatever it is is getting worse. So I just turned around to come back home. I have the car up on ramps now for the millionth time. Please someone help me.

do you have a siezed tensioner pulley that could do it . remove the serpentine belt and check the idler puller, then the alt if it's siezed , the water pump pulley should turn freely also check what is siezed and making the belts squeel something's not turning.

Why no heat in 2001 mazda protege

Possible that the fan belt is not tensioned right or that the water pump is binding causing low flow through the heater.
If belt is not loose, release it more and try turning the water pump by hand to see if it is binding.

2001 mazda protege dx 5 spd dies, brakes are seized up?

It seems that one of the pulleys is bent, or you are using the wrong timing belt. I would suggest changing them. That would probably explain why the timing belt keeps breaking. The braking problem can be related, or you simply have a leak somewhere in the system and should try bleeding the brakes after thorough inspection.

Timing belt on 1996 mazda protege slips during startup

Hello, this to me sounds like your fan belt slipping (not timing belt). To adjust the fan belt you need to undo your bolt on the alternator, pull it tight onto the fan belt and while holding it tight do the bolt back up tightly. this will stop yoour fan belt from slipping. I hope this helps.

My 2000 Mazda Protege DX has a tight steering. Can

Try turning the wheel when standing still with the engine running.
If it is tight check the obviouse, has the power steering belt come off. If not check if there is fluid in the steering pump resavour. If the belt is on and you have fluid you may have a bad pump.
I hope this helps

My belts have broken. Car overheated, lost power steering, and battery light illuminated. What is wrong with my car? previous website listed above shows a serpentine belt tensioner, does this apply to my...

It looks like you may have 2 serpentine belts, but when one fails it almost always gets tangled into the any other belts and they all end up coming off, all of the problems u listed are driven off your belts, replace the belts and hope that the overheat didn't cause any damage to the engine. And yes you have what are called serpintine belts and there is a tensioner for each..
