I have a 2000 mazda protege. The car is sqealing from the area of the serpentine belt. On cold or warm starts the sqealing starts out a dull low squeal then after driving it a few minutes then the high pitched sqealing starts. It will stop after a while but when I stop at a light and resume driving it will be squealing again same sequence dull sqeal then high pitched squeal. When I turn corners the squealing will start also, that is if it isnt already squealing. I dont turn my heater on, except for lowest setting only for defrosting purposes. I have replaced the alternator and belt and I know it is ok plus the sound comes from the front of the car, right by the serpentine belt area. I have spent so much time and money on this car, I do all my own repairs because I have no more money to pay to have it fixed. I just need someone to give me a suggestion on something else to try. I am a nursing student and supposed to be in school this morning but on the way to school with the squealing came the check engine light so I know whatever it is is getting worse. So I just turned around to come back home. I have the car up on ramps now for the millionth time. Please someone help me.
SOURCE: waterpump/alternator belt keeps breaking on 2000
do you have a siezed tensioner pulley that could do it . remove the serpentine belt and check the idler puller, then the alt if it's siezed , the water pump pulley should turn freely also check what is siezed and making the belts squeel something's not turning.

I am leaning towards the not tight enough suggestion. I will go see what I can do for my poor car.
if you can I have some people here with noises to listen to. I have them post to my garage page and I can tell what it is if I hear it. this the link to my garage I am on facebook.https://www.facebook.com/TedsRepairs
