You will likely have to remove the panel from the inside with the window up. Once you have the panel off I would try to have some one hold down on the switch while you tap the motor with a hammer. Of course make sure the latches are all the way closed as if the door is not closed all the way the window will not roll down as it has safety switches to keep this from happening.

If you still can not get it down then you will need to unbolt the regulator and let it down that way.

Its pretty typical for those window motors to burn up. I had to replace the motor and switch in mine. Typically they run $40-$60.

Rear window on my 1987 ford bronco will not work

This has several possiblilitys, it could be the switch in the dash has gone out even if it does not work with the key in the tailgate. other possible item could be the window motor or a sensor that detects if the gate is up or down. check motor wires for power when the switch is activated by pulling off the panel on the tailgate, if it is getting power i would suggest replacing the motor. if not you may have to trace wires to the drivers side of the tail gate and find the sensor.i had to by pass mine a while ago. makes it much easier to clean the glass on the inside cause the window will roll up with the gate down.

1988 ford bronco back window motor does not work

remove the access panel on the tailgate and test to see if there is power to the motor. if there isn't check the fuse, wire and the safety switch either located on the bottom of the handle or the drivers side latch. if there is power to the motor replace the motor, it is the same as the passanger door window motor

The tailgate window on my 92 Ford Bronco won't go down. No indication of power. The fuse checks ok. There is no visible sign of broken wiring. (at least it failed in the "up" position). Thanks!

check the safety switch in the tailgate either on the bottom of the handle or the drivers side latch if it is bad you can run a jumper wire

Tailgate window motor

I believe almost all broncos from 85 or 86 up to at least 94 should be the same.

Rear Window in 1990 Ford Bronco

you could run a 3 way switch of some kind. but i would try looking in the access panel and finding the safety switch either right on the bottom of the handle or the drivers side tailgate latch. they are known to go bad.you can replace it but i pulled mine out and jumped it with a piece of wire works fine now

Tailgate window doesnt work

It could be several things. Make sure the tailgate is latched all the way. The motor could be bad. remove the tailgate cover inside the truck. use a test light and have someone press the up and down button while checking for power at the motor wiring. If you have power going to motor on both sides ,the motor is bad. If you do not have power check for broken wiring or bad switches.
