Problem with the speedodometer

I have a 89 chevy pickup 2wd with 350 and auto trans. I have no Idea how fast I am going. The odometer is not working or works when it whants. I have replaced the speedsensor, the gauge cluster and the ecm. What gives? Is it a relaying or a wiring issue ? Any help would be helpfull.

Im putting a 95 chevy 454 and a 2004 chevy 4l80e automatic transmission into a 1991 chevy 2wd pickup . What wiring harness wil work to make everything work correctly

Thats pretty tough to answer since, harnesess borrow different feeds off the engine harness for when you accelerate to tell the tcm info from the tps sensor....another sensor it reads from is the brake sensor to tell the tcm when to tell the trans to downshift. You really need to seek a qualified technition that knows how to mix harnesses... sorry I couldn't helpout more....sounds like an awesome project. Call a an auto wire harness maker with your info and have them custom make you a harness...

Speedodometer 1992 toyota not working

The sensor is usually located at the passenger side axel near the wheel drum. It works by sending a signal to the PCM at the exact velocity. I think it is the sensor.

I have a 1990 Dodge Dynasty and odometer doesn't work

This model car should have a speed sensore on the trans. The wires go from their to the back of the speedodometer. 99% of the time its the speed sensore.

How do you change speed sensor in 99 chevy s10 pickup 2.2 motor 2wd?

Drivers side rear of the transmission at the tail shaft. If it's a manual trans it will screw in and it auto it will have a metal tab with a bolt holding it in place.

F-350 speed/odometer not working and shifting hard

there is a speed sensor on the top of the rear differential. either the sensor is bad or it has become unplugged. when the truck doesnt know how fast it is going, the trans goes into "limp mode" to protect itself...whic causes it to shift hard and if u look you'll notice the o/d light is blinking
