Alarm has went off a couple of times and car wouldn't crank and horn went crazy. It acted like the battery had went dead and lights wouldn't come on and I don't know how to cut honking horn off. I read today that by turning the key lock on the outside door off and on might rest that. We jumped it off and charged battery--it seemed fully charged and headlights fully charged. what caused the problem in the first place??

This is a Direct Fault Caused by the Alarm System Starter Kill. Do you have an Alarm Override Switch???? You may need the Dealership to Reset the Alarm if not.

(From experience) - This is definately a problem caused by a bad oil pump. Have an expert take a look and replace the oil pump. It is very technical and if not serviced/ fitted by an expert it might lead to you buying a replacement engine.

I have a 95 camry 2.2 and it did the same thing. i helped jump a buddy's car then the horn started sounding. so i called the parts service for toyota they told me theres a switch under your dash, on the floor board, right above where the left is placed. there was a switch, he told me to flip it then my car started working no problem. that was about 1 yr 1/2 ago.
