Door won't open from inside; exterior latch works fine
Your door rod to your latch must have popped off your inside door latch. take your door pannel off and the door rood will be unhooked

never shut the door to test and always remove ign key as sometimes door lock automaticly,as to why doors will not open did you refit the connection from handle to the lock little metal rod with a plastic clip to hold it on ??assuming it has one as i have never seen a chevrolet only an astro van here in spain .to test without shutting door use a screwdriver to close the mechanism .sorry i couldnt be more helpful

sounds like the linkage is disconnected from the latch unit. Becessary to remove the door trim to inspect and repaiir. Hope this helps

one bolt holds handle on you should be able to see thru panel opening with flashlight, also haynes manuel has removal procedure. sold at most auto parts stores.

you must disarm the interior of the door to be able to accede to the plate and to check that the rods of the lock and the handle are in sequence
