My rear door has been making a buzzing noise when I try to lock or unlock it with the remote. Just in the last few days the noise continues, but the door won't lock. I tried to move the door lock by hand, but it seems to be stuck.
It's the power lock solenoid. There is a tiny plastic piece that connects the solenoid (motor) to the door lock mechanism (thin metal rod or two). Likely, the plastic piece has become disengaged. This is by design so that if there is a problem with the mechanism the motor does not burn out. You will need to have the interior door panel removed to gain access to the interior of the door and the lock rod and solenoid need to be reconnected. The plastic clips used to go for $1-$2 when I worked in auto parts.

Thanks for the information. Would this rod that is disengaged, cause the manually movement of the lock to be stuck? In other words when I try to move the lock manually, it will not budge either way, so I can't even lock the door.
