Just put a new battery in my 92 buick park ave ultra. i cleaned the cables and the car won't start. I turn the key and it just makes a click sound (one click not continous clicks) the car started fine before I changed the battery now nothing. I think it might have something to do with the security system. any suggestions?

Are you sure that the new battery you installed was fully charged? Some batteries are shelved at the store with a "surface charge" that will give the impression that it is fully charged when in reality it is no sufficiently charged to start your vehicle. If you've already tried jumping the vehicle and/or charging the battery, disregard.

Before diving into the security system, I'd check some other wires and/or connections first. Trace the wires connecting your alternator and battery to ensure the wire is clean and secure. Also, trace the wire from the battery to the starter. Make sure it too is clean and secure. It's possible that while removing/replacing the wires during the battery installation that something was disturbed or otherwise came loose.

If none of this helps, post an update and we'll see what we can do to troubleshoot the security system.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Hello
Trace the battery cables back sounds like something is loose like the ground to the engine or the power cable to the power distribution box

1997 buick park ave.wont turn over. battery ran down, tried to jump start it,Got the same results, key turns, everything lites up,the panel info reading 12.9 volts,It doesnt even click.

Try an put the gear selector in neutral , could be a park neutral safety switch problem . If that doesn't do it ,maybe the starter relay .Do you know how to test electrical circuits with a voltmeter ? Voltage drop test the starter main battery cable .

My 1993 Buick Park Avenue just Clicks once when you turn the key on starter won't engage the battery is fine

Sounds like a bad starter or a bad battery cable connection to me. If you are certain that tyour battery is in good condition and fully charged, your battery cables are clean and tight and are making good connection on BOTH ends, replace the starter.

I have a 1995 Buick Park Ave Ultra. The car has power but will not turn over. I was told by one shop that it might be the V.A.T.S. system and by another that it is the IGNITION CONTROL MODULE.

Make sure the battery cables are clean and tight on the battery. Check to see if the wires to the starter are tight. Try starting it in neutral to make sure the safety switch is being make. Also hold it up into park and try.

92 buick park ave security light on car wont start

Someone put the wrong key (resistor value) in the ignition lock, you will have to disconect the battery for 3 min. Make sure you have the right key. Very important! Make sure the climate control is off before disconecting/conecting the battery.
