It says looking at engine it's on the right side, this is the driver's side. Behind engine next to firewall, but it also says you have to take off intake and cam cover, the intake looking at engine is on the left. This is very confusing. The crankshaft pos. sensor is located on the left "driver" side of the engine on the bellhousing and is retained by a single 10mm bolt.The sensor may be tight,be sure to twist as you pull so that it doesnt break off in the bottom end.

p1693 is manu. controlled aux input output fault
p1693 is a code for an open or short to ground for the check engine light
does it light up when key is on? if so then it is a left over code from some previous repair attemt
the evap code wont prevent starting
check for broken timing belt
check for fuel in tank and that it has proper fuel pressure
