What does it mean when takes a while to crank

take to the after market alarm seller/installer.
or have it removed, totally and back to stock so that repair shops can fix it and not need Deity skills or ESP. to fix it.

and say
engine will not crank as the starter motor is dead
or say cranks fast that starter motor but engine will not start or stay running.
cranks ok or not/
or does not crank.

I suspect you mean it cranks, but won't start without starting fluid (crank means the engine turns over with the starter). You appear to have a (no) fuel problem. If it's a diesel, your best bet is to take it to a qualified repair shop. If it's a gasoline model, you can do some troubleshooting, but requires some knowledge and tools. Check for fuel in the tank, fuel pump working, proper fuel pressure, and proper injector function to begin with. Depending on what you find, you may need to troubleshoot further, which would require a good scan tool and/or scope. Again, best bet is to take it to a qualified mechanic.

-Take a look at the battery CCA (Cold crank amperage). Sounds like
it's low amp.
-If it click but not start or turn that mean the starter has dirty contact or bad connector between battery and starter.

Which is the problem, no fire, or no crank. No fire means to spark to engine, but engine turns over fine. No crank means engine won't turn over when key is turned. I'm assuming engine will not turn over. Three most common problems. 1. Weak battery (get tested at auto parts store). Will hold charge for short time once started, but loses it when sits overnight. 2. Bad starter. Possible but not likely, still not out of the question. 3. Bad battery cables. This is an easy test. Take a pair of jumper cables and bypass the battery cables by connecting black side of jumper cable to "-" of battery and block of engine, and red of jumper cables to "+" of battery and (tap) Battery terminal post on starter...engine should turn over. Ensure you take all safety precautions to prevent car from moving during this procedure. Best of luck resolving this problem.

What do you mean by will not crank ???? As a automotive technician of over thrity years i have heard a lot of different answer's for this . To me, an all professional technicians, will not crank means the engine will not turn over . Turning the key to the start position an nothing happens . I have heard people say the engine turns over but will not crank . Service engine light ,check engine light etc.... On means DTC'S are stored . What code's does your vehicle have stored ? Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop .

If so. Possibly dirty injector, low fuel pressure.
-Or you mean you turn the key 3-4 time before the starter crank...?
If so. Solenoid has dirty contact or bad connector.

turn over and crank, mean the same thing. do you mean will not crank? or cranks but wont run? it could be anything. you need to figure out "if" it does crank, but wont run, is it missing spark or fuel?

do u mean that u hear something turning but not the engine or do u mean when the engine is cranking it takes a long time to start

Do you mean 8 to 10 seconds to START? Turn over means the engine is turning or cranking BUT starting is when the engine is actually running. I think you might have a fuel problem like your loosing your prime. Turn the key off wait 15 sec. then turn the key ON not cranking it repeat this (3x) if the car starts immediatedly your fuel pump is loosing its prime or the fuel pressure regulator is leaking.
