My mechanic disconnected my battery and now my radio in my 1991 Volvo 940 SE will not work (currently says OFF) I do not have the codes to reprogram. Is there a way I can get them?

You will have to call the dealer and get the code (you will need the VIN or the radio model # and serial #). Since your radio display says off, you will have to leave the radio on with ignition key in the number 1 position until it says code. Then you can put in the code. Hope this helps.

I need the radio code for my '92 Volvo 940.

You will need to call your local Volvo dealer and provide them with your VIN number. They will look up the code and give it to you.

You may need to call multiple dealers as not all will give you the code over the phone.

notify a dealer the radio un-loc code is part of ur security system dealer has access to the radio code- call first they can also advise on how to retrieve the radio id code which will also be needed or if have vehicle manual in it explains how to get radio id code[ number]

What is the code for a radio in a 1992 volvo 940 GL

Each and every stereo in each and every car has a different code usually a four digit one.Try looking in the owners log book case for the key code it may be written down on a small piece of paper or it could be hidden away in the glove box or in the little sleeves on the sun visors which is common.If you dont manage to locate the code im afraid to say it will have to be recoded but depending on the age of the stereo and the price of recoding sometimes its cheaper just to renew your stereo, Hop this helps!!!!!!

i called a dealership in town and asked nicley,gave them the vin and they looked up the code and told me. online im not sure where to look it up, but if you call its a chep fix

Need code for radio in a 940 volvo

The original response is correct about acquiring the code from the dealer. However, if you just purchased the car, check inside the glove box/manual as it may be located there. Also, you may want to try pulling the radio out of the dash. I have found them written on the radio as well. Defeats the purpose, but some people do it anyway.

Code 1-1-3 volvo 940 turbo

The code seems to point to the camshft actuator circuit. Namely the Oil Control Valve. Probably needs replacement. I do not know the location on your vehicle. I suggest you ask a mechanic or try to find it online.

Call your dealer and give them your VIN number. They will provide you with a six digit code which you will enter into your radio.

I'm pretty sure that you can call any Volvo dealer and get the code...talk to the service manager.

You can pay for codes online but there is no real need to.

There are other forums type volvo radio unlock into the search engine. One way has to do with emergency 6666 code. You can get the radio to come on for 5 mins. At least you can then know that you have a working radio and not a dead one. Used car owners frequently think it is a dead radio and pay to get it replaced!! Yes, you must prove ownership at the volvo dealer, but you can get the info for free (if they are good guys).
