The driver side front power window was moving real slow for awhile and will not go up or down at all now. I am assuming it is either the motor or switch or both that need to be replaced. I will try to do the repair myself, and could use some help with the dis-assembly and re-assembly. Instructions and or pictures would be greatly appreciated.
If it was giving you signal of failure moving real slow, it is more likely the rails and guides binding putting extra load on motor, could have blown fuse, check your other windows, some vehicles have separate fuses for each side, some for both, but always worth checking fuses before pulling door panel. Switch may be problem, but it would not cause slow operation leading to failure. Motor is stained would indeed overheat and fail if the binding rails were a problem for a long period of time.
Good Luck,

I do not believe that the balljoint is causing the squeak. Take your car to an independent mechanic that you trust. dealerships are notorius for mis-diagnosing (it begins with the intake person describing the problem wrong).
More than likely, the squeak is coming from a worn rubber bushing or mount. Check the exhast pipe hangers for worn rubber. Also check the anti-sway bar bushings and the motor mounts. You should be able to replace these with ordinary tools (assuming you have safe access to the botom of the car - i.e. jack stands). Also check the control arm bushings (these would require an expert, or a pro to replace).
If the balljoint boot is cracked, you can prolong the ball joint life by keeping it well greased. If grease is oozing out the crack, then the balljoint is protected. Replacing the balljoint boot requires separating the wheel spindle from the control arm and can be very dangerous because of the strut spring. This should be left to the expert, or professional mechanic. Also, if the ball joint is squeaking, it needs to be replaced.
If you still want to tackle this yourself, buy a Chilton or similar book (under $10) specifically for your car. They have good instructions and diagrams.
SOURCE: driver side power window stopped working
The door panel is held on by plastic clips and 5 screws. 3 screws are on the bottom and 1 in the pull cup and 1 in the inner door handle. Then grab one of the corners and give a small tug, when you get some of the clips to pop out then proceed around the whole panel. To replace the panel take the clips out of the door with a fork and slide them back into the panel and then line it up on the door and use your hand like a hammer and bang the panel back on. Hope this helps

Once you take of the door panel, you should have two or three nuts behind the black triangler shape cover..Once you take them off, you just reverse the procedure...To take the door panel off, you may need a flat head screwdriver, and a phillip screwdriver..You may have two or three screws to take off..One is by the door handle..One may be under the window switch..which you can pop that off with the flat head screwdriver...Then just pop the panel off, and disconnect all the connections..Should be no more than 3....Goodluck..

HAVEK 1005 sounds right on track.... but also try this, usually works well for non functional power windows, specially Caravans.
NO COST PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:
1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.
7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!
NOW, for the naysayers that says you must replace power window motors etc, at $$$ cost because the above fix does not work, or is not long lasting fix, or less than a "professional fix".... Well then, when the window fails to operate again, apply same fix again at that time.
I have fixed my van this way numerous times (usually once a year), and to all local friends I recommend this fix too, likewise do the same and are happy with the solution.
