I have a 1997 chevy blazer and the variable fan switch was broken, I replaced it and now the fan doesn't work at all some ppl told me. That its the ingition switch and some said its the regular (right off of the motor that changes it to variable speeds) is in need of replacing... Btw the head lights are dim and the running lights don't work what do you think?

I would start by investigating the fuse box for a possible blown fuse.also double check the wiring connector is fully seated on the part you have replaced

SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?

If it was the motor that went out then it would not blow at all. The resistor is the culprit that starts killing off speeds. It should be about $25 to $30 at an aftermarket store like autozone or advanced auto parts.

SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?

Yes its the blower motor resistor.

More then likley theres some trash or something in it, or possibly the motor itself is on it's way out. There not that bad to pull out of that body car, just pull it out and see what you can see.

The blower motor is under the glove compartment

You can replace the resistor on your own. Please find a detailed diagram which would guide you to do it.

I'M WORKING ON A1997 CHEVY BLAZER THE FUEL PUMP WENT OUT AND WAS REPLACED WILL START SOME TIMES REPLACED RELAY DIDN'T FIX IT WHEN IT WILL START THE WORNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH WILL COME ON WHEN

Check the engine bulkhead main wiring connector in front of the driver on the firewall, see if it is loose or corroded, remove it and reinstall it. This can also be due to the ignition starter switch being defective on the rear of the ignition key cylinder, very common on this model..

1997 chevy blazer, serpentine belt making noise. belt dressing doesn't seem to help, sometimes it makes the noise louder.and then after driving for a good while the noise stops.; it starts again whe i...

May be a worn belt or a pulley whose bearings are shot. Remove belt and check it for the ribs having broken down or missing parts of belt. While it's off, check all your pulleys for turning freely, alternator, tensioner pulley, a/c compressor, PS pulley...If you hear any noise when spinning them, or feel any movement like wobbling, or if they have a rough feel, then its likely that pulley needs replacing.
