I have a 91 honda accord and the speedometer does not work and now the millage has stopped working all together I replaced the speed senor and nothing happend is the speed sensor broke or do I need a new speedsensor instrument cluster
I have a 91 Accord. When I purchased it, the speedometer did not work. I replaced the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) and the speedometer started working again. I paid $24 for the sensor on ebay. The local part stores wanted $150. It's an easy fix. It takes about 20 minutes to replace.
It has an electrical speed sensor on the transmission. It should have three wires and be on the top of the tranny. There are two different ones. One for a manual trans and one for a automatic. They usually go bad.
There is also a drive piece the speed sensor bolts to. It has a drive in it, and has two lines coming off it. Sometimes the rubber lines get a hole and it wont work. Check the rubber lines off the drive first then check the drive under the speed sensor
Thank you so much will check all the rubber lines before buying a speed sensor.Putting in throttle position sensor today.FINGERS CROSSED....
