Getting antifreeze fog out of dash and windshield vents and antifreeze leaking on floor on passenger side of car
Replacing the heater core on your vehicle is a job in itself and if one is not mechanically inclined or knowledgable in this area I highly do not recommend attempting taking on such a task.I have done many of these and I will tell you it involves removing the whole dash including lossening the steering wheel and laying it on the seat your dash will also be laying on the seat but if you get this far behind the dash there is a plenum assembly your heater core is inside this case depending on how yours is set up you may or may not need to disconnect th A/C lines and you may or may not need to remove the whole plenum assembly to replace the heater core. If you do plan on attempting to take on this task I recommend you buy a repaire manual for your vehicle and follow the instructions.
SOURCE: antifreeze leak under dash, passenger side
Nothing special. lots of patience and don't poke any holes in it, don't pinch any wires under box and remember to plug in anything you disconnected going in!
SOURCE: no heat and is leaking
inside the duct work..pop the hood and follow the two heater hoses thru the firewall
SOURCE: I HAVE A 94 ford escort that is leaking antifreeze on the drivers side floor
there is only so many things that can cause this and are you sure its anti-freeze and not washer fluid.just something else.a damaged heater core is usually what causes a leak inside the car.when the heater cores were replaced did the shop say there were signs of them leaking or couldn`t see anything.the other is coolant from a previous leak could have spray aroung the air ducting in the dash and has finally found a way out.but this should have been gone shortly afterwards and usually there is only a mist that is sprayed into the air ducts which usually shows up on the inside of the windows,so i don`t think this is the problem.if the hose clamps are loose were the hoses are fastened to the heater core spigots/tubes it could be leaking inside the cars air duct.and yes its unusall for anti-freeze to leak onto the drivers floor but stranger things have happened.
Hi I have a 2002 JGC ltd and it is most likely your dampeners or louvers located behind your dual temp controls for driver and passenger sides that control the direction of air flow from air outside in, circulation, heat to windshield, centre and or to floor etc. I had a friend that had heat only to the passenger side and cold air blowing to driver side. He took it in and they replaced stuck dampeners and it was not cheap. I also had a 98 JGC ltd with the (coolant sensor is bad) warning coming on at least 4 to 5 times in a day and had heat. My problem is that my interior glass was fogging up, used glass defogger and stop leak. The problem was fixed but I still smell antifreeze because of the leak and it is irritating me. I may consider replacing the heater core and was wondering if you took it in or did it your self and how did you do it if you replaced it yourself, plus how much did it cost you?
Thanks.
