2004 Hyundai Sonata jerks when stopeed

I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata and when I have the heat or air on, it will **** really bad and act like it wants to die when I am stopped. If I flip it into Neutral it will stop doing it. What is wrong with it? I took it to a shop and they said they can't work on Hyundais, and then I called the dealership and they said it isn't warranted and that it will cost $300 to look at!

It runs well when it is in motion. It will accelerate nice but it sometimes a little hesitant.

U need a good mechanic. Ask around for recommendations from folks you know. What ever you do stay away from the dealer unless you absolutely have no choice.

SOURCE: replacing heater switch in 2004 hyundai sonata

Open the ashtray, and grab the bottom of the bezel. Its only clipped in, so give it a yank and the bezel will come off. Unplug the connectors and replace your switch.

SOURCE: 1999 Hyundai Sonata speedometer not working

Yes the electronic speedo itself has failed, the input they refer to is the vehicle speed sensor, the speedo can be repaired, send it to a authorized factory repair center, don't go through the dealer they send it out as well, and then 2X the repair bill to you.

SOURCE: The heat in my 2002 hyundai sonata doesn't work, Help!!!

Is the fan working and blowing air but there is now heat?

If there is no heat and air is blowing out check your radiator level. If the engine coolant is too low water will not get to your heater core. Remeber check the radiator level and not just the coolant reservoir. Becareful when working around a hot car. wait til the car cools down to check the level of the coolant in the radiator.

SOURCE: hyundai accent stops running after heats up

I had the exact smae problem and threw aaway a ton of money on bad "guesses" at what was wrong. The actual fix was replacing the crank shaft position sensor for 50 or 60 bucks. Swapped out bad for good and cars has run great every day since.

How to change the termostat on a Hyundai Sonata The engine heats up at times

A defective thermostat doesn't act like that, it either runs cold (stuck open) or hot all the time (stuck closed). Go ahead and replace it and note if the coolant is rusty or badly discolored, if it is you may have a leaking head gasket, make sure you bleed the air out of the cooling system when all work is completed.

The not ready may be for a HEATED O2 sensor and HEATED catalyst. Since these cars are not equipped with the HEATED versions, they would never be ready.

2000 hyundai sonata.. P0300, P0110 and P0102 codes..

Higher octane gas 93 with some good octane boost in the black can at autozone cost about 7 dollars or a bottle of 104 octane boost. Change the fuel filter. Probably only one coil pack is bad. The OBDII reader should tell you which one was a misfire.
