Engine 4.0 overdrive 4x4,i think th trans may be a 55r5e not sure tho.
The turbine shaft speed sensor is located inside the transmission. The transmission will have to be removed and disassembled to access the sensor. The sensor you have now... sound about what it looks like.
so do i just have to drop the pan to have it dun, or better yet do u have a diagram were it is,some 1 on here said that the sensor im refering to is also the pressure control solinoid is that sound rite.also said wouldnt have to remove the valve body . thanx
You can not access this sensor through the pad. The transmission will have to be removed and torn down to access this sensor. This sensor is bolted to what is call the center support of the transmission. Sorry, I do not have a photo. The pressure control solenoid and the TSS are two different parts.
thanx

SOURCE: i have a troble code
this input sensor is located on the left side of the trany, heres a diagram to help you loacte it, good luck and hope this helps.
SOURCE: input/turbine speed sensor circuit
Your speed sensor, is located on top of the transaxle, near the starter. To access it, remove the battery, then remove the battery tray (4 10mm bolts). You will see wires coming from the lower oxygen sensor, and they snap into the bracket that holds the speed sensor in place. The actual speed sensor has a 2 wire clip on it, and is held in place by the bracket and a 10mm bolt.

Now i dont know a lot about automatics especially modern ones with all this fancy electronics thats used nowdays but i think its a fault with the temperature sensor for the gearbox. But where its located and what it looks like i have no idea it could even be mounted inside the gearbox .Sorry not a very good answer from a mechanic but?? very few of our europeon cars come with auto transmission .Evan when i do know whats wrong i cannot buy the parts for the gearbox as only re-con boxes supplied by the dealer so best advice is to try a specialist in auto box repairs only .PS some of my best students when i used to teach mechanics many moons ago were the girls so no excuses like iam only a girl please

also had the code po715, bout the part but none of the sensors look like the 70.00 sensor auto zone sold me .the sensor they sold me looks like a 1-2inch thimble with a 6inch wire harness on it.hope that helps ,thanks much
i have 1997 ford explorer and my turbine speed sensor is malfunctioning what should i do?
