To test the coil you can use a spark tester if you dont have a spark tester you can try a screwdriver place the metal end of the screwdriver into the coil wire or coil terminal end and crank the engine while holding the screwdriver about 1/8 to 1/2 inches away from a good ground (most metal surfaces of the engine) have someone crank engine spark should be crisp snapping sound and reach the full 1/2 in in length about 30kv for the type of coil on your car
It is hard and never test right, do you not have any spark at the coils
I am assuming you have the 1.6 engine. You would check for power and a ground signal. You can disconnect the coil and put power to the positive terminal and then ground the negative to make it spark.
