Check the ignition switch and the fusable link.
also your fuel pump is going out. there might be a check valve in the pump that is becoming faulty.
otherwise its battery problem .just replace the battery and check out for getting the exact fault.
Hi
This seems to be a somewhat common problem
(search for intermittent starting problem), which i've had many times,
including last week. I've had battery cables, clamps, ignition
switches, and keys replaced over the 5-6 times i've brought it in for
the issue. This week was the first time they've actually replicated the
issue though.
They found a dead spot on the commutator? within the starter motor.
Replacing starter motor & solenoid switch. Hopefully should solve
it for good. We'll see. I pick it up tomorrow.
As many times as i've dealt with this, i finally traded communications
with BMWNA to see if they had anything documented (TSB or SIB etc) but
not much came of that. However they did call my dealer which i think
got their *** in line.

U are not supplying enough info to help, is this an aftermarket alarm or is there some kind of factory security system? since factory systems don't have a button under the dash I will assume it is aftermarket, with the model number it makes it really hard to offer any useful info, I would recommend u disconnect the alarm and restore the factory wiring.
That means that the battery has gone, replace the battery.
If you still have problems after battery replacement , a mechanic must test that there is power coming from the alternator and charging the battery.
Unhook the battery for eight hours. While it is unhooked, put it on a charger and make sure it gets fully charged. This should be enough time for the system to reset. Good Luck!
Hi there
Turn the ignition switch OFF, and
remove the No. 13 CLOCK BACKUP fuse (7.5 amp) from the passenger's
under-dash fuse/relay box for 10 seconds. Also check all the other fuses and try again
Good luck and thanks for using Fixya

Usually answered in minutes!
Afraid that didn't work; got it charged all night, put it back in, nothing. Pressed alarm reset and held for 5 seconds, still nothing. Gave up and getting it towed to the dealer.
Thanks for trying!
