Bent frame on right front wheel.....need to know the name of the piece.

Tire from another car came off and hit my front left tire. my car ran over the tire which bumped the wheel HARD up into the wheel well. splashguard was violently rolled forward, and the frame is bent down on a strut or something. not a car guy, but the right side is separated from the frame, perfectly fine on the left wheel area. cant find any 2005 mountaineer schematics to properly identify the issue. thanks.

An aligmnment check will only get u an answer on what the problem is, if anything is bent/damaged, they can not align the front end with damaged parts, don't drive this car until u find out what is wrong.

Yes, that rod isn't bad to do, You'll need a ball-joint removal fork for the ball-joint. But after that removing the bolt, releasing the other end is a piece of cake. You will want a friend around for installing the new one. he or she will turn the steering wheel so you can insert the new ball-joint into the frame.

Why does my car pull to the left as soon as I let go of steering wheel?

That's a mess. Something is bent in the steering or suspension linkages. The tire is scrubbing because the wheels aren't pointing straight. The CV Joints also need checking. Your vehicle is dangerous to drive.

I hit something very hard with my right front rim. the tire now rubs the wheel well. What have I bent =, dammaged ect.?

Depends on what you mean by rubbing on wheel well?

if the wheel is bent inwards, so when the steering is set straight ahead, the damaged wheel is angled inwards or outwards then the tracking arm is bent!

if the wheel well has dropped on the damaged side then it probably is the suspension!

My daughter ran her 98 Civic EX into a ditch flattening the front tire on the right front and bending the entire rear left wheel inward. I replaced to lower control arm in the rear, but now the car has...

not a lower control arm problem
the wheel alignment guy is not lying

the front wheel drive only has tow in toe out adjustments
no camber adjustments
the frame is pre stressed at manufacture set at zero

if the shock tower frame on any front wheel drive gets bent up.... even a little bit
the camber will be way out
even front ride height may be way out on each front side

too dangerous to drive
the car is a write off

only good to sell for parts or buy the same model and swap over its good bits

if you like the car a lot
to correct the damage needs the front chassis stripped back to frame and put on a frame straightenerd47f961b-7315-43ab-a146-e3069f36ad5f.jpg

that car should be front wheel drive and will not have a rear axel but will have an arm of a frame on the back you probably need to take the car to a tire store you trust and see if they bent something if not then you will probably need to get a 4 wheel alignment to true the back end and prevent that uneven wear.

Fixed Properly: You need to bring it to a shop- Modica Bros/Pep Boys/Firestone/Disount Tire/Etc. It's a simple alignment and it'll cost somewhere in the $120 price range - possibly less.

The car was hit in the right front side and the wheel bent inward. I need to know the part name and procedure to replace it. It is the shock or spring that the brake rotor mounts to and it is bent or broke

you are describing the steering knuckle.. If I were you I would go to my local wreckers and get a complete strut and knuckle assembly and replace both pieces.. One rarely is bent without the other being effected..

I hit a curb with my front passenger wheel. Since

You probably bent the rim slightly or knocked off a wheel weight, just get your front wheel re-balanced.

Alignment causes a pull not a vibration, and it takes a hard hit to bend a frame.

I bet you this is not more then a 50 dollar fix.

Hit a curb 1999 Ford Taurus SE 16" wheels steering problem

It could be the steering rack but the first thing you should do is have an alignment job done. Even if there is another problem, the hit would almost certainly knocked your suspension out of alignment. So you'll probably need to get this done anyway. If there's still a problem after that, then I'd have your steering looked at. But the alignment may fix it entirely.
