You need to do an OBD2 engine control module fault code test to see if the fault is recorded in the memory of the computer control module. Autozone and others do this testing for free.

SOURCE: 1991 plymouth acclaim shuts off while driving

This might sound a bit odd but check your ignition switch contacts for wear.Sounds like it could be a bad connect in there somewhere.I dont have any clue as to your abilty to try this yourself .If you need a hand let me know.

SOURCE: 2000 Plymouth Breeze. Car would crank slow a

Your guess would be mine too; starter or solenoid.

Although, I would look at the cable, both at the starter and at the battery, even if not apparently loose, there still could be corrosion on the cable at the connector.

Does the starter make a loud click or clicking sound, when you try to start?

1. If no single loud click sound, suspect the wiring or solenoid (and recheck battery/charge system)

2. If making single loud click sound, suspect the starter.

3. If making multiple clicking sounds, suspect wiring or recheck battery.

I hope this helps. Post comments and let me know what your finally find out. J

1997 plymoth breeze keeps dying 2 or 3 minutes after starting. I then wait 10 minutes and it will start and die again. I need help. I am fixing this on my own so if someone can help I appericate it

When it dies, pull a spark plug wire and put a screwdriver in it. Let it close to metal. Try to start the engine and watch for spark from the screwdriver. No spark. It could be the coil pack or crank sensor. If the check engine light is on, I would go after the crank sensor first.

What causes a 97' plymouth breeze to completely shut off and not crank? I was told the computer is gone. Which computer is gone for it not to crank?

I guess my first question is do you have a check engine light when you turn the key on ?
Have you tried having the computer scanned for codes ?
Have you tried to use a jumper wire to bypass the key and make the starter crank ?

I have a 1997 plymouth breeze with the 2.0. This morning my husband drove it to work, the oil light came on and now it turns over but won't start...any ideas. Thanks

The first hing I do with any neon crank no start that I get is check the timing belt to make sure it is turning. If it isn't it broke.

The next thing I do is check for fuel pressure. If there is none it probably needs a fuel pump and I make sure it is getting power and ground before I replace it.

Lastly I check for spark. There are a bunch of things that can cause no spark.

See if all of these are o.k. or not and let us know what you found. I'll happy to help further once we know a little more about what is missing (fuel, spark, etc.)

1997 s-10 sames to get vapor lock. after filling up with gas, drove truck home (4miles} left sitting in drive way (hot sun) tried to start 4:pm. 9:pm 9:am removed gas cap started up first time. Aprox....

Change your fuel filter, it may have gone it's life time and is getting to dirty to let fuel flow properly. Your fuel pump to may be getting weak, if the fuel filter is dirty the pump works harder and heats up and could be over heating the fuel pump relay too. The fuel pump relay i believe is in the glove box behind a panel that say relay, there should be (3) in there and the middle one is the fuel pump's. switch then around after you change the fuel filter and if you get a chance, check your fuel pressure at the shredder valve. Good luck and hope this help's if there is a Auto Zone around you, you can ask to use the fuel pressure gauge to see what fuel pressure you have and they'll have the step by step instructions on how to do it and takes about 5 min to do and will have the fuel filter and step by step to replace that too. Keep me posted, be glad to help.
