Fuel pump not working properly getting gas to engine.

Was the fuel pump recently replaced? If so, the smell is coming from the seal where the fuel pump seals to the gas tank. It's a large o-ring and if not put in properly you get the gas odor.

It's under the right side rear door unscrew the clamp and use fuel line separators to get the front line off push in and pull out the line on the back there's a clip you push out

Does it start when you pour gas in the engine itself? It might be the computer not reading right

I would run the fuel pump for a little while with the fuel line disconnected from the engine into a gas can . Although you might have changed everything you might still have residual water in lines or motor. I would still put dry gas in the tank

the electric fuel pump is located inside the gas tank, the gas tank must be removed to replace the pump module assembly which includes a new pump and sending unit if you buy itr from ford, u can buy the pump separetly from other sources

You are looking for the constant control relay module- ( CCRM ) see below. The pump will be located inside the fuel tank.Most of the time , its the pump and not the relay but, it wouldn't hurt to check the relay out. Teh relay is housed in the CCRM. Its located behind the engine coolant reservoir.

replace the fuel pump if the fuel pump cutoff switch and connector checks ok.

remove it from what? You should have dropped the gas tank - it's removed from the tank after it's lowered from the car. Two straps, the filler neck (which is a little tricky - make sure the tank is supported by a jack).
