I drive a 2005 Chevy CObalt SS-S and it won't start.

A nice simple answer, you can't. Think of it this way, the car doesn't know you are the owner, and it is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You have two computer ECM and BCM, plus the antitheft module and a number of sensors all trying to stop you. All you have to do is the re-learn procedure. Plan B is an auto electrician or alarm / radio installer or auto locksmith.

30 Minute Re-Learn Procedure

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds .

the p1182 code is an o2 sensor (bank 1 sensor 2) open circuit durning coast down fuel cut-off. i recently looked into buying a saturn ion redline (same engine as cobalt ss sc) and i read that they have alot of problems with the MAF sensor needing to constantly be cleaned and/or adjusted when throwing the P1182 code.

Oh that's a first I never heard that one before. I bet u have an electrical problem. The 2005 and 2006 Cobalts are notorious for a wide range of problems. I guess GMC couldn't work out the bugs. If your car is still under warranty you might want to take it to the dealership. If take it to Autozone or any where they have computer scanners that won't charge you an arm or a leg.
