Just has a blank rubber button, and nothing is happening now when I push it. No key slot? Had it two years and I've never found a trunk latch button inside. It never got stuck closed before either. No key slot under "U" or anywhere back there. Haven't removed license plate holder yet.
I have a 2002 stype jaguar and there is a key slot underneath where the lights for the number plate is situated. slightly to the right.

Look under the "U" in "Jaguar" on the chrome strip on the trunk. You'll find a key slot where you can insert your ignition key. You may have to remove the license tag frame (if you have one) to get the key into the slot.
