Blockclogs easily if you get some water in the diesel.age in fuel system. Remove both pipes from tank to pump and blow. If clogged replace. Also check fuel filter. That thing

SOURCE: Just got an 1998 Isuzu Wizard (diesel), some times

It sounds like the fuel is gelled, is it cold where you are and what are running for fuel? If your in freezing weather you should be running blended fuel, straight No.2 will gel at about 25 degrees (F). Take a hair dryer or heat gun and warm the fuel filter up. Or if you can get in warm garage and get it started thin the diesel with kerosene, about 2 gallons to 20 gallons of diesel. Then drive it for at least five miles so the kerosene gets circulated through the system. I've used gasoline to do this too, but only use about 1 gallon to 20 gallons of diesel.

SOURCE: on start up cold, engine

Hi,

Since you did not post that the idle is rough, I would assume that what you are referring to is that engine will not idle when cold. Areas/components to check would be (depends on the regional version of your engine):

  1. auto throttle choke;
  2. Air idle valve (electrical);
  3. injector and injector pump (least likely).
Worst case scenario, have your compression checked.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Jaguar stalls

There is a gold plated wiring harness update available which replaces the 4 main wires that connect to the throttle body, i would try this first.

I have a 1.5 dci nissan bakkie Bakkie only starts when I spray quick start into the throttle but when I switch it off then wont start again until I use quick start again What can it be

Reputedly a Renault engine and reckoned to be one of the best small diesels. It isn't a good idea to use an ether spray regularly.

The reasons why a diesel doesn't start and from your description doesn't even start when hot (?), can be many from poor compressions, low cranking speed, preheat not working, bad injector spray patterns or even the high pressure pump being slow to raise the main fuel rail pressure to the required level.

The common rail diesel has electric injectors controlled by computer and if the fuel pressure isn't raised to that required in the expected time the computer will not begin injection so perhaps that is the trouble, using easy start will make the engine turn faster perhaps overcoming the problem.
I wonder if it starts with a tow without the ether...

Once what can be checked has been checked and repaired if necessary, the high pressure side will need expert attention with some good diagnostic equipment.

2008 Isuzu dtec d/cab. As soon as I start it have to start it again. When rev'ed up to 2000 RPM, take foot of pedal it dies. After service, it will be fine for a while then it starts again.

is this a KB truck, if yes, where?, we dont have them.here.
last USA ISUZU is jan 2009 D-teq right? (not dtec)
is this one? the 3.0L? 2.5? what/?
4JK1 engine? what? or 4JJ1?????????????
is this just a cold start question? or hot engine too.?
Dteq means diesel. can we know size of engine, and country?
so do you have full engine power, even on hills??????
and can you save the stall with fast right foot, easy?
does start easy and run easy hot, or just cold is problem?????
cant guess that, nop...
so what causes stalls.
well over 50 reasons.
idle controls bad, or bad efi sensors or bad engine, 1,2,3.
if cold starts problems check glow plugs.
low engine compression?
what does service mean, name parts changed. filters?
is it turbo diesel?
which engine, we can never guess,?
bad fuel>?
