1997 Dodge Stratus V6 oxygen sensor location

Where is the upstream oxygen sensor on my 1997 Dodge Stratus 2.5L V6. I found the one that is downstream, but the upstream one, can't find. Getting trouble code 21 (using the ignition key technique) that says o2 sensor circuit voltage is not fluctuating.

Upstream, as in ahead of the converter, back toward engine. Start at converter and work your way back, should be on exhaust pipe or even on manifold.

How many o2 sensors on the 05 grand jeep Laredo 3.7 are upstream and downstream sensors the same?

The 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7L typically has two oxygen (O2) sensors. One is located upstream (before the catalytic converter), often referred to as the pre-cat or upstream sensor, and the other is located downstream (after the catalytic converter), known as the post-cat or downstream sensor. In many cases, the upstream and downstream sensors are not the same and serve different purposes in monitoring and optimizing the air-fuel mixture and emissions.

Where is the oxygen sensor on 06 ford explorer v6

Explorer requires 4 O2 sensors in total. Two are upstream, i.e. above the catalytic converter and two are downstream i.e. below catalytic converter. Simply locate these sensors by following the exhaust line from the engine towards the catalytic converter and after it.

The Oxygen Sensors (O2S) are attached to, and protrude into the vehicle exhaust system. Depending on the emission package, the vehicle may use a total of either 2 or 4 sensors.

Federal Emissions Package (4.0L and 4.7L engines):
Two sensors are used: upstream (referred to as 1/1) and downstream (referred to as 1/2). With this emission package, the upstream sensor (1/1) is located just before the main catalytic convertor. The downstream sensor (1/2) is located just after the main catalytic convertor.

California Emissions Package (4.0L engine):
On this emissions package, 4 sensors are used: 2 upstream (referred to as 1/1 and 2/1) and 2 downstream (referred to as 1/2 and 2/2). With this emission package, the rear/upper upstream sensor (2/1) is located in the exhaust downpipe just before the rear mini-catalytic convertor. The front/upper upstream sensor (1/1) is located in the exhaust downpipe just before the front mini-catalytic convertor. The rear/lower downstream sensor (2/2) is located in the exhaust downpipe just after the rear mini-catalytic convertor, and before the main catalytic convertor. The front/lower downstream sensor (1/2) is located in the exhaust downpipe just after the front mini-catalytic convertor, and before the main catalytic convertor.

California Emissions Package (4.7L engine):
On this emissions package, 4 sensors are used: 2 upstream (referred to as 1/1 and 2/1) and 2 downstream (referred to as 1/2 and 2/2). With this emission package, the right upstream sensor (2/1) is located in the right exhaust downpipe just before the mini-catalytic convertor. The left upstream sensor (1/1) is located in the left exhaust downpipe just before the mini-catalytic convertor. The right downstream sensor (2/2) is located in the right exhaust downpipe just after the mini-catalytic convertor, and before the main catalytic convertor. The left downstream sensor (1/2) is located in the left exhaust downpipe just after the mini-catalytic convertor, and before the main catalytic convertor.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

On a 2004 Dodge Caravan, the code P0032 apparently means that the oxygen sensor needs to be replaced at bank 1 sensor 1. I'm trying to determine which location this is - upstream or downstream. Both...

Bank #1 is on the side that cylinder #1 is on

Sensor #1 is the one closest to the engine (upstream)

Sensor #2 is the rear or monitor, they don't
get replaced (downstream)

I have research around and found that the Bank 1 sensor 3 O2 sensor is post Cat. But when I got under there I dont see anything that could resemble a sensor. Where is it. Please help. Marc

try this
ALLDATA Editor's Note: Always verify #1 cylinder location prior to diagnosis and repair.

- Cylinder bank number one is the bank that contains number one cylinder.

Cylinder #1 on right side.

- The first oxygen sensor in cylinder bank # 1 is numbered O2 Sensor 1/1.
- The second oxygen sensor in cylinder bank # 1 is numbered O2 Sensor 1/2.
- A third oxygen sensor in cylinder bank # 1 would be numbered O2 Sensor 1/3.
- The first oxygen sensor in cylinder bank # 2 is numbered O2 Sensor 2/1.
- The second oxygen sensor in cylinder bank # 2 is numbered O2 Sensor 1/1.

- If a V-6 or V-8 vehicle only uses one downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) it is numbered O2 Sensor 1/2, even if it uses two upstream HO2S.

Where are the O2 sensor located on a 1997 Dodge caravan sport' and how many are there?

There are 2 o2 sensors on the caravan upstream+downstream
The downstream sensor is located on the exaust pipe at the
converter. As I don't know what engine you have, the upstream
sensors are located as follows
2.4 on exaust manifold firewall side of engine
3.0 on manifold near alternator
3.3+3.8 center of manifold firewall side

Where is the oxygen sensor located?

WHICH ENGINE YOU GOT?... V6 OR 4 CYLINDER?
On the V6 there are four (4) oxygen sensors (O2 Snsr), and on the 4 cylinder there are two (2) O2 Snsrs. The Upstream O2 sensors are in the exhaust manifolds at the top, and the downstream O2 sensors are at the bottom of it or in the exhaust pipe.
