Where is location of temp sensing unit on 1989 z24 V6

he Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is located in the coolant pipe, below the air intake pipe and behind the right cylinder head and is integral with the ECT sensor. The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is located on the back of the right cylinder head and is integral with the ECT sensor.

I have a 2001 Lincoln Ls 3.9 V8 motor and I'm trying to locate the temperature sensor. But i am having trouble to locate that part. Can someone help

This engine does not have nor use a engine coolant temp sensor. It uses a cylinder head temp sensor. It is mounted under the intake which has to be removed to gain access to the sensor. It is on the drivers side head next to the intake ports

cylinder head temp sensor measures the temp of the cylinder head metal itself and the coolant sensor measures the temp of the coolant only. the coolant sensor is mounted in the coolant and the head sensor is mounted only in the metal of the head and not into anything else. check with a dealer.

Where to find the coolant temp.sensor on a 2004 Lincoln l.s. 6 cylnder?and how to change it?

There are two coolant temp senders, one has one wire and goes to dash cluster, one has twoo wires and speaks to the ECU. Both are located in the intake manifold near the thermostat housing on most engines, and parts stores have parts locator charts which should help. Buy your part and ask to see the location chart. Unscrew the old one and quickly install the new one to prevent loss of much coolant. Top up with new coolant and done.

Hi there,

The temperature gauge relies on readings from the Engine Coolant Temp (ECT) Sensor.

The ECT sensor is usually located on (or near) the thermostat/coolant housing.

Refer to component No. 8 (2.0L Engine):

Where is the location of the coolent temp. sensor on a 04 dodge truck v6 3.7 . I need to replace it.

Dodge Dakota 3.7L v6:

Fig. ECT sensor location-3.7L, 4.7L engines.

Back to Top Inspect/Test/Replace Because ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor procedures vary depending upon their location, first locate the part. You may need to partially drain the engine coolant to prevent coolant spillage.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Unplug the ECT.
Then, unscrew it.
Reverse the removal procedures to install the new part.
Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.

My 2001 lincoln ls 3.9l is overheating when i turn the a/c on and i trying to find out where the cootant temp sensor or do i need to replace someelse.

make a visual inspection, you may check the fans for correct operation, if fans ok, check the discharge pressure, it is not more than 250 psi and suction pressure is 25-35 psi, if all this is accurate clean the system, replace condenser if necessary, replace expansion valve and filter drier, the engine coolant temperature location is @ the cylinder head beside injector #3 (engine temperature sensor)

It is on the Driver side of engine in between the COP's (Coil on plugs) simply unplug the wire use a 19 or 3/4 deep well socket and unscrew it and put it new one... The whole process should only take 10-15 minutes.

It's on the intake manifold. It is a small brass gadget with a plug that connects to the fans and guages the engine temperature.It can be unscrewed with a socket and wrench. Be careful not to break anything.

The coolant temperature sensor is located on the intake manifold as mrgreenz indicated. The sensor located between the coil packs on the top of the engine is the cylinder head temperature sensor. I found this out when replacing the valve cover gasket on a 2002 Lincoln LS with the V6 and had to replace the sensor between the coil packs...
