Why wont my 2005 Honda Accord start after unhooking the positive battery cable? Has aftermarket alarm.

I unhooked the positive battery cable from my 2005 Honda Accord and even after trying to jump the car and reconnecting the battery it will not start. Only clicks. Lights still work and everything, just the car will not start at all. Any ideas why? It also has an after-market alarm on it- autopage.

Sounds like a fuse for the DC-DC convertor to battery circut or the DC-DC convertor. Check the fuses under the hood but DO NOT attempt to fix the convertor yourself because there are LETHAL amouts of voltage in the hybrid drive system.

Try smacking the starter with a blunt object ( hammer or something ) Smack it several times while cranking. It may free up. Listen for the click at the starter. Its prabably a bad starter. Common symptom your describing. If it does start replace the starter.

Charged battery replacement

Usually this is because the battery is still too low. I would try a new battery. You may have a bad cell. Try that first. or use a jumper cable from a known good car. to make it easier you might want to unhook the horn wire while you try it all.

is the battery good? try unhooking the battery for ten minutes if it is and rehook and see if it does. this will reset the memory. the jump start may have been the problem hoping it was hooked correctly. if the battery tests bad replace it it could be the culprit. once you hook it up if the alarm sounds try disabling it with your remote then let us know what happens. hope this helps

Honda wont go into nuetral

Hook up some jumper cables to the battery cables on the honda, turn the key to on position and apply brake and then try to shift it. Some cars need power to allow shifter to dissengage. Or just unhook the shifter linkage from the trans. and shift it directly at the trans. just be sure the parking brake is on and wheels choked so it does not roll when you pop it out of park.

ABS indicator stays on after changing battery - 2005 Honda Accord

Try unhooking your negative battery cable for about a minute. And the re-inslalling it. If that doesn't reset it , it was probably just a coincidence that the battery amd the speed sensor went bad at the same time.

Lost remote to alarm on 1996 honda civic need to change battery

I had this happen today and called an alarm installer. he said to connect the battery cable (id unhooked it to stop the blaring) then open the door to set off the alarm. then torn on the key ( even tho it wont start the car , turn it on anyway) then look for a toggle switch ( AKA a valet switch) with the key in the on position flip the switch. ( when I did this a noticed a tiny red light come on to the left of the steering column) I turned the toggle back to the original position and then I tried to crank -AND IT CRANKED WITH NO SCREAMING ALARM!!! I was so happy, I had to post this in case it could help someone else.
