2008 AWD Chevrolet Equinox acceleration problem

The cam position sensor is near the top of the engine on the drivers side

if there is a problem with the awd system then the light will come on to tell you this...

Could be TPS sensor [RPM] getting bad.

Any tune up issue could be bad catalytic

best advice is dont go 40mph in 5th gear... if you are going up a hill at 40mph in 5th gear i have no doubt that it is jerking, your putting too much stress on the engine. shift up to 4th or 3rd you will be fine. 5th gear is an overdrive gear. 55+mph

The reason it does this at higher speeds is that more ignition spark is needed to fire the spark plugs.
Yes, it's time for a tune up.
A shop that has a scanner can identify which cylinder is causing the misfire. It will have stored a code to do this.
