If you're ok about messing with the wiring on your vehicle, you can connect the factory disarm wire permanently to a body ground, to disable the factory security. The factory disarm wire is;

SOURCE: 2001 xterra key won't turn

First have her turn the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. Then if that does not work try moving the shifter as much as she can with the brake pedal depressed. If for some reason that does not work she will have to get it to a dealer. Good luck, dont forget to rate.

SOURCE: NEED TO DISABLE ANT-THEFT ON

There is no reset button, unless you have an after market alarm on the truck. Try this, close and lock everything including the hood, lock the doors with the driver side power door lock button. Then, unlock the driver side door, wait 30 seconds and then open the door. This should reset the factory alarm system. Use the lock button on the door to lock it and then close the door.

You have waited the 30 seconds before opening the door; it is vital that you wait so the alarm can reset itself.

If this is not the factory alarm system (aftermark alarm), try looking under the dash for a small black box with in line fuses in it. These are fuses in the wires and not in the fuse box itself. If you find this, remove one or more of the fuses and it should stop it from going off. Aftermarket means it was installed after the truck was built. If you can find the control unit and unplug it,that would be best. Should be a box that is held in under the dash with ties and not bolted securely. Look under the dash, it might not be by the fuse box, but it will not be bolted to anything. It is likely a small black box maybe 3"x4" in size. Usually they tie them up under the dash near the steering column.

Also, sometimes, in the owners manual have the right procedure at factory theft system disarm check it.

Lincoln tow car 2001 passive anti tip DTC 1260 I replaced pcm.trancevier.instrument cluster.2new ignition key but no communication this module what possible problem this?

No where in the DTC - description does it say anything about replacing any modules . An does not have anything to do with a communication problem ! You need a professional grade scan tool to communicate with the PATS system ! An if you don't know these thing's you better take it to pro !!!!!!!
P1260 - Theft Detected - Vehicle Immobilized Indicates that the passive anti-theft system (PATS) has determined a theft condition existed and the engine is disabled. This DTC is a good indicator to check the PATS for DTCs.
  • Previous theft condition
  • Anti-Theft System failure
Theft indicator flashing rapidly or on solid when ignition switch is in the ON position. Check anti-theft system for DTCs. Typical vehicle symptoms are: Start/Stall or Crank/No Start. NOTE: No crank symptom only on vehicles equipped with PATS starter disable feature

I don't think you can. It's called thief immobilizer and is program to the ECU. Depending how much you pay for the part the reprogramming of the keys is usually $200. Check ebay for the part.

Replaced the battery now have to reset the anti theft override

Your owners manual may have some info on this.
You may be able to lock and unlock the drivers door with the key to disable the alarm.
The security module should store the key code in memory even if you take the battery out of the car. The code in the key is embedded in the key.

Car will not start

You probably can't.
If the anti-theft module is in the cluster, you would need the correct key chip for the car the cluster came out of.
You might be able to bypass the passkey system by running a wire to the fuel pump relay and other components.
You may need a shop manual to find the circuits.

How do I disarm anti theft device on a 2001 ford taurus

SEE THE STEPS WITH CAREFULLY AND COMMON SENSE:God bless you
Press the unlock button on your vehicle's key fob to deactivate the alarm. If you've misplaced your remote for the car, use the PATS programmed key to unlock the driver's side door. Then, put the key in the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position. The vehicle's battery should be on, but the engine shouldn't be running.

  • 2 Locate the override button on the alarm box, beneath the driver's side of the dashboard. Press the button and hold it in until the alarm beeps one time. The LED light for the alarm should stop blinking, indicating the anti-theft system is disabled.

  • 3 To reset the vehicle's alarm, put the PATS programmed key in the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position. Press the override button. When the alarm resets, it chirps two times and the LED light begins blinking.

    Hi,

My name is Ben and I'm your guru, i.e., mentor, an influential teacher or popular expert: a management guru. - origin from Sanskrit, 'weighty, grave', for today.

    WARNING!

Unless you have shop technical manual, please don't even think about trying to disarm your anti-theft system because there is an easier solution. I'm assuming that you don't have the full Shop Service Manual. If you do, then you know that a shop manual costs at least $100.

So why did I say: Don't even think about it? Your anti-theft device is capable of causing problems that you don't want to deal with. If you have the dealer do the job, the cost can be prohibitive. The anti-theft device tells the on-board computer to shut off the fuel flow and to disengage the starter circuitry.

SOLUTION: Go on eBay and buy an anti-theft bypass module for $10-$20 depending on the year and make of your vehicle.

    All the best
