SOURCE: dash and shifter lights in 1996 jeep cherokee wont light

Hello and welcome to FixYa . Locate the dial that controls the brightness of the dashboardlights. If the control is not immediately evident. Make sure the brightness control is turned on. If it is and the lights aren't working, the problem may be a bad fuse. Check the fuse that controls the dashboard lights Replace the fuse if necessary. If just one part of the instrument panel is not lighting up, then you have either a burned-out bulb or a wiring problem.

SOURCE: heated seat 1996 jeep grand cherokee

C1 & C2 in your panel are most likely one of the culprits, if no power at heater at seat. Sounds like testing for power at seat switch is easier to do than get at these circuit breakers in the panel. If you have power at switch at seat, then it's not the fuse/circuit breaker. Good reading at this link for you.

I need to know where I can go to get a manual diagram for a 1996 Cherokee jeep sport fuse box?

Like answer #1, when I bought my 1993 Jeep Cherokee, one of the first things I ended up doing was go to & join the
cherokeeforum.com, i.e. cherokee-forum-dot-com....

I've found that whenever I need advise, or answers to any questions with my vehicles, I look for the forum for that vehicle. 99.9% of the time the folks in the forums give you honest answers..... I even subscribe to a few YouTube Channels, like the one for my 93 Cherokee. That guy is not only smart when it comes to 1990s-2000s Jeep Cherokee's/XJs, he's always doing some sort of repair or modification to one of his Cherokee's or Grand Cherokee's..... Hope this helps all you Jeep XJ Folks out there....

I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country Inline six. It wont start. It tries to turn over but wont start. The distributor cap, starter, and ignition coil has been replaced. We got a code reader and it read 0...

Remove the distributor cao and replace the ignition module. Follow the wires coming from the outside to the inside of the distributor, this is the piece you need to replace.

I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country 4.0L inline 6 4x4 Automatic Transmission that is slipping in 3rd and Overdrive, 1st & 2nd accelerate instantly with no problems. Any Suggestion?

Your transmission needs to be rebuilt. Likely the seals for those clutch packs have worn out causing a pressure drop and therefore not allowing full pressure to engage the clutch packs (then they slip). The longer you put it off, the more damage will be done. If you don't intend to keep it, you can try using Lucas conditioner. Most times that will restore seals somewhat and will extend useful life a bit. There is no "forever" chemical fix however so even if it works, the problem will not be gone for good.

Where is the dipstick for the transmission???

It should be at the fire wall in the engine compartment. Do u have the owners manual? That would show a diagram of where to find it.
