REAR WIPER ON 08 FORD FIESTA STICKING CAN HEAR MOTOR WORKING

If you can hear the rear wiper motor working but the wiper is sticking and not moving properly, there are several potential reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
  1. Check for Obstructions: Inspect the area around the rear wiper blade for any obstructions or debris that might be preventing smooth movement. Clear away any leaves, twigs, or other materials that could be hindering the wiper's motion.
  2. Wiper Arm and Blade Inspection: Examine the rear wiper arm and blade for any damage or signs of wear. A damaged wiper arm or blade might be causing the sticking issue. If there are visible issues, consider replacing the wiper blade assembly.
  3. Lubricate the Wiper Mechanism: Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the wiper pivot points and joints. This can help reduce friction and facilitate smoother movement. Be cautious not to use excessive lubricant, as it may attract more dirt and debris.
  4. Check Wiper Motor Linkage: The wiper motor is connected to the wiper arm by a linkage. Check the linkage for any loose or damaged connections. If the linkage is damaged, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
  5. Inspect Wiper Motor Operation: With the rear wiper turned on, observe the movement of the wiper motor linkage. If the motor is working but the linkage isn't moving correctly, there may be an issue with the linkage assembly.
  6. Wiper Motor Replacement: If all else fails and the problem persists, the wiper motor itself may be faulty. In such cases, replacing the wiper motor may be necessary.
  7. Professional Inspection: If you are unable to identify and resolve the issue on your own, or if the problem is related to internal components, it may be best to seek professional assistance. A mechanic or automotive technician can perform a more detailed inspection and provide a more accurate diagnosis.
Remember to exercise caution when working around moving parts and electrical components. If you're unsure or uncomfortable performing these steps, it's advisable to consult with a professional mechanic or take your vehicle to an authorized service center for further assistance.

Repair wiper linkage

Most likely the spline is stripped where the wiper blade connects to the linkage. All I do is insert a wire ( soft metal, like bailing wire) between the wiper arm and the linkage and tighten down the nut. But if the linkage doesn't move, then the linkage set has to be replaced. I have yet to find replacement parts for these. Salvage yard is your best bet.

Wipers on my 1985 Dodge Ram Charger don'm move. they are at a up position. I could hear the wiper motor on.

this sounds like an arm poped off the linkage, see if you can move the wipers by hand if you can then linkage poped off, remove the cowl and look at the linkage you may need to replace the linkage some cars you can buy just one linkage arm instaed of the complete unit and also some part stores sell the plastic bushing to replace worn one on linkage and it just pops on,

My rear windshield wiper stopped working on my 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe. I can hear the motor working but when we replace the motor it still wont work.

My 2005 tahoe did the same thing. I also bought a new motor, which did not fix. I discovered there was a bad ground. Instead of searching for bad ground, just install a short length of stranded wire with crimp terminals between a wiper motor mounting bolt and a rear glass latch assy mounting bolt to restore good grounding to the wiper motor.

Need to know how to install the RH wiper linkage in a Nissan 200SX. I know how to remove the wiper arms and plastic cover below the windshield. Just need to know how to install the linkage with out...

The wiper cam actuator the cam is made to prevent damage to the motor by using a spring to allow it to slip if the wipers are stuck or frozen to the wind shield the spring stretching causes the wipers to stop in the middle of the window not hard to replace but does require you to do a timing procedure it should come in the box if not ill give you the basics get the new part remove both wiper arms careful the windshield is under the black plastic and I've seen other break the windshield taking the wiper arms off a battery post puller is the best way to remove , remove the cowl plastic piece you will see the cam gold/silver in color remove the one torx head screw then install new one rotate clockwise 2 times should spin freely then spin counter clockwise should stop look at where it is touching this area should have a 4mm gap the wiper motor has to be in the intermittent position prior to this turn key on put wipers in intermittent let motor spin then when it stops shut the key off then install cam.

These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Wiper problem 2002 ford explorer. Motor energizes, but wipers won't move unless you give them a "shove". How do you access the wiper drive system ? Thanks

it is problem with linkage of motor , you have to lubricate it then try once, but the motor is gone weak so it not pushing that linkage, you just try with lubricating that linkage that connected to wiper motor to wiper arm, if it work you saved your money or do replace the motor assy.
